Why lock your apps and not just lock your phone?

Any other good benefit to iprotect?

For me personally I don't want to lock down my phone from the home screen. There are only certain apps I want to passlock, which is what iprotect let's me do, pick and choose. Haven't really messed with it much yet as far as other benefits.

BiteSMS looks like a good solution if you're already paying AT&T for their text messaging plans, as the app's pricing for texts is overpriced. I'll continue using Textfree instead of paying for AT&T's (also) overpriced text plans.

I installed BiteSMS but just installed it now. When I went to the price page, it said something like 12 cents per message....

You need to get the license version. It will use your carriers messaging plan.

Latest beta has retina icon

It's updated with retina'd UI but the newest icon is missing an alpha channel.

I created a quick fix, feel free to use it if you're OCD like myself, I also hate their non-standard icon border. ;)

( Just overwrite the 'icon@2x.png' located in yourPhone/Root Directory/Applications/biteSMS.app )

Can you confirm that there's a noticeable difference? Tia.

Echoing all of the biteSMS love. 100,000 times better than the stock messaging app. Now I need a good realtime weather widget...

About the biteSMS icon - I just copied the default Messages icon over to the biteSMS folder and replaced their crappy icon, now it looks like stock. The stock Messages icons are located in the MobileSMS app (show package contents). Note: browsing the files on my mac, the icons looked transparent, as if there was no image there at all, but replacing them works fine and after respring, the phone displays everything perfectly)

I'm not sure...I used iFile to set up my phone as a web server, then connected to it on my MBP, did the copy/paste/moving around there. Respring, done.

With iFile I think you can copy/paste as well, but not sure how it handles overwriting.

yeah also wondering whether there's a cydia app that will allow sms lock ?
or some sort of password lock to prevent other people reading my text messages...
Thanks!
Sorry i know nothing of cydia apps... :) *it's been a while*

That would be useful.

Anyone know if Wi-Fi Sync is working on the iPhone 4? Can't really find an answer and wanted to purchase. Thanks!

Anyone having issues downloading winterboard?when I hit the install button it gives me a red NOTE: the reguested modification cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed. why is it saying that, last time I jailbreaked my phone was when 3.0 came out.

Wait a few seconds before tapping the INSTALL button. Other stuff on the page needs to load first.

Here's one that is still neat:

Make it Mine

Allows you to change the carrier name in the upper-left portion of your phone (ex: AT&T) to whatever you want.

I'm sure all of these have been said at some point, but just to opine, the below apps are absolute musts on a freshly jailbroken iPhone 4:

1) SBSettings (quick access to your most used settings without having to leave the current app fuhgetaboutit!)
2) Winterboard (theme every last inch of your phone, iOS4 gets a little closer to this, but not enough)
3) BiteSMS (absolutely destroys the default iPhone SMS app)
4) MYWI (tether your internet and even share your phone as an wireless access point)
