My connection is 10/10Mbits (download/upload)

Pretty good for both downloading and publishing :)

I'm staying at a hotel, but here's the stats. :)

Virgin is near useless, the connection dropped for a full minute earlier, they still haven't replied to my 5 emails asking about rubbish performance.

Don't go with Virgin for ADSL, go with BT, they're much MUCH better.

Oh I dunno about that. My 2.2mbps connection has dropped to 700kbps for the past 12 hours. I'm on ADSL BT. Whereas my girlfriends on Virgin and it's really ruddy fast, she bought 2mbps but that appears to be the lowest speed it connects at, never a problem with it.

OK, now I don't know what to do. Stick with BT or switch to Virgin

Schtumple, what package do you have with Virgin?

Arkitect I notice yours say Telewest (take it's really Virgin)

My current ISP is BT and no sign of the speed improving until 21CN hits my area.

Yes, it is Virgin all right… my location (Kingston, Surrey) seems to be using the "old" Telewest network…
I have 0 complaints with Virgin — apart from the price.

PS. When I bought my iPhone and joined O2 I considered joining O2 because of their "cheap" all inclusive package… but I am very loath to give up the good speed I get via Virgin/Telewest.
