iPhone Smart Case from Waterfield Designs. Great quality, bet I could drop it from 15ft and it would not break.

Seems to me, your ideal case depends on how you like to use your iphone. My requirements:

1. Pocketable I like to keep my phone in my pocket, so the case needs to be as slim as possible.

2. No Sleeves The SENA and BELKIN sleeves look nice, but I don't like the idea of having to take my phone out of a sleeve every time I answer the call. That means I first have to take the phone out of my pocket and then out of its sleeve.

3. No belt clips/holsters This is purely a fashion thing. It seems like it would be very useful, but I just don't like having things stuck to my belt line. That's the kind of thing my DAD (age 60+) likes to do with his gadgets.

So that leaves three possibilities: hard cases like the Agent 18, silicone cases like the Belkin Silicone Sleeves, or something like the Sena Wallketskin with a flap that protects the screen. In the end, I went with the silicone skin as I've read reviews of the hard plastic cases leaving scratches on the phone over time. The flap cases are nice but I didn't like the idea of a flap hanging out while I'm using the phone; and they look a bit bulky too.

This is what I went with:

Belkin Leather Hard Case for iPhone 3G

It has a soft interior that won't scratch the phone. Seems to match your requirements.

I already ordered my invisible shield. Now i'm just trying to figure out if and what other case i want to get to protect against drops. Or if i am going to at all. Wasn't there some sort of insurance you could buy for the phone?

I've attached mine, I've got one of the screen guards as well to prevent scratching but i'm against proper cases, I just like the phone to be free as it were released if that makes sense. A simple sock does fine so I can just take it out when need be. LOVE IT haha.

Ah good choice - same as me :)

The iVolution is just the coolest and sexiest case out there.

In some ways its the only one that looks 'right' on Apple stuff - had a case on my 5G iPod and it just fitted the looks so well.

Once you've had a Vaja, nothing else comes close.

Idk why you all go through the trouble of picking out an expensive case ranging from $30-50. I bought this case on eBay for $5 and it came with another clear silicone case and screen protector. Anyways i bought this for my first iPhone, but this fits perfectly on my 3G. I sold the screen protector and the clear one with my old iPhone. If you look on ebay you can find really good cases for cheap. I love this case, its thin, gives grip and fits in my old iPod dock with it on! I just bought an invisible type of shield for the whole thing today for $10 and it should be good! Guys don't spend $30-50 on a case when you can find alternatives that are better looking and more functional than leather cases.

I'm not much on obstructing the the looks of the iPhone so I went with Ghost-Armor. It is a mother to put on correctly (probably about an hour total) but you can barely tell its there. It does not have the orange peel texture that some people say Invisishield has.
