Nikon D70
Kit lens (18-70mm)
Nikkor 28-200 Lens (you should see the telescoping on it!)
Canon V3
LowePro Bag
Coupla filters etc.

The D70 is without doubt one of the best digital camera products of the digital age. The first real pro-sumer camera, with the emphasis on Pro. www.kenrockwell.com swears by his, and he has been shooting nikon for god knows how long!

The D70 blew everything away in the market when it came out, out-performing much more expensive cameras and putting to shame the 300D (in features, not the pictures IMO). Canon answered with the 20D which is a much better camera however it does cost most. Arguably the D70 is still the best camera for its pricerange on the market today.

I have:
Nikon D70
18-70mm DX (kit lens)
70-300 APO SMII (sigma) cheap and works well
a few filters, free Nikon bag I don't use because its too high a profile, a couple LowePro bags I do use, monopod, tripod....more stuff.

This D70 was my first experience in DSLR cameras and after the two lenses I currently own I am not going to purchase anymore until I can make a more educated decision between Nikon and Canon for future purchases. I have a lot of friends in the photographic field at work and they all swear by Canon....so I get a lot of jokes at my expense when I shot with my D70 :p

It's embarassing. I have a FujiFilm FinePix1300. The same one I've had for God knows how long. A wooping 1.3 megapixels and 2X zoom!

I want to get a new one, but I'm waiting for my stepfather to buy a new one, so I can get a better one. Why you ask? Because he always has to have one-up on me. It's some kind of game to him, in his mind, he's in some kind of contest with me. It's veyr weird.

Anyway, here's the camera I got.

just got a Casio EX-Z750...a pocketable 7 MP camera. as an earlier poster had stated, I too was unimpressed with the picture quality of Casio Exilims in the 3-4 MP range, but this camera has outstanding optics.

the reviews have been great too, i would thoroughly recommend it not only to someone who wants a full featured pocketable digicam, but also to anyone who is interested in great quality pictures in an affordable package.

god, i sound like a carpet salesman or something...

I think my next camera will be the Casio. Maybe after several months of using the Nikon, I'll hand it over to my older brother and get myself an EX-Z750. Hopefully the price drops a little.

I saw some of the sample film this thing takes, it's pretty sick. You practically have a portable movie camera with that thing.

So I started looking around at some of the cameras suggested here. I think the one i was most impressed by was the Casio EX-Z750. That's a sexy looking camera, and it's specs beat the hell of anything else I've seen, save the $1000 professional cameras.

Hows it hold up? I take my camera pretty much everywhere, just incase. You know? I'm not a photographer, I just like to have a camera incase something worth taking a picture of happens.

It seems a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, right?

Anyway. Anyone else use this one that would care to comment?

FinePix S1 Pro
FinePix S2 Pro

Funny how so many people love the D70. I had it for 2 months and sold it off, getting all my money back (luckily!)

Man, borrow a friends new low end camera, flash it in front of the Competitor-in-law, he get a medium something to beat you, and then you spend the same on a great deal, top of the line, dad in law humiliator! Then to beat you he has to buy a second camera (lots of bucks) and you got what you wanted and made him spend the $$$.

Ha. That's great. Doubt I'll do it though. I don't try to go out of my way to mess with him. In some way, that would be letting him get to me. But I'm straying off topic.

I personally own a Fujifilm S5100. I've had it since Christmas and I absolutely love the thing. It's a tad on the larger size for a 4MP, but it has a 10x Optical Lens that is amazing. Great overall camera. I just bought my girlfriend a Casio Elixim S100 and it's a nice little camera. Although it only runs with 3MP it's a great camera for someone who doesn't want bulk and doesn't need a gigantic picture size. Overall we haven't seen any of the problems that you have been stating with the Casios at all. It's the sexiest camera I've seen in a while, and when it comes to a girl, looks matter.

Where do I begin?

Own or have owned the following (in no particular order):

The Olympus E-10, the Kodak DC 210 (?), the Canon 10D, the Canon SD300, the Pentax S40, the Olympus C-8080 (my current favorite), the Nikon 950, the Nikon CP880; among many others.

Nikon Coolpix 3100 w/ gray neoprene Nikon case, 2x 128MB cf cards and GP 1800 mah rechargeables. Had it for 2 years now I think. Suits me fine for point and shoot.
