I just walked into best buy at pentagon city and walked out with what i wanted. Think the guy said they received 200 and only had like 20 ppl in line at opening.

I walked in at CSC Toronto and bought 2. Don't get why people lineup for stuff.

No real line at the apple store Where I live either. Arrived at 8am, was out by 8:10. All the employees were cheering the 10 of us who were there.

Typing this on my new iPad now, and I love it. :)

There were about 100 people in line at the Apple store in Burlingame, CA. However, I'm sure they had many more than 100 iPads in stock.

I think a lot of people were on edge because the release of iPad 2 was marked by shortages. This time tons were sold through pre-orders and the iPad was rolled out in nine countries which cut down on the need for people to buy them here and ship them overseas. Unlike last year, it should not be a problem buying a new iPad within the first week.

Read my NYC Fifth Avenue Apple store experience and see photos of the lines here.
NYC is different. Everyone wants to be on TV and smell like dead meat from camping out. It also allows Apple to give the false impression that they are selling like hotcakes to create a buying frenzy.

The Apple store in Menlo Park NJ at 11:30AM had ZERO lines. There were more security people and annoying sales people then there were customers in the store of which 99% of the customers were just playing with the samples. I was there 15 minutes and only noticed about 3 people walk out with iPads. All models were in stock as of 11:30 AM.

If you wanted to buy one you had to first go into the (empty) roped off queue line to get a saleskiddie assigned.

Feeling a bit foolish

Spent 3 hrs on weborder day, selecting a 32G downsizing from iPad 1 64G. After thoughts about increased size of apps, and being somewhat lazy on managing space, I went to the local Apple store around 10:45 today to get 64G, ATT black. 7 min later walked out with the upgraded iPad3. Now I have to go back to return the 32G whenever the FedEx truck arrives. Guess the pre-order mess removed the pressure for immediate satisfaction line.

Hoping my local store still has some after work. When I called this morning to confirm using cash/gift cards, I asked about them selling out and she tactfully said "we have a good supply". I then asked if I could call before driving out to see if they still had 64gb in stock and she said they couldn't give out inventory over the phone. Going to be so bummed if I drive out and they don't have any, so I'll try to call anyway.

Stopped by the closes Verizon as well, and they didn't have ANY 64gb in stock nor would they take my amex gift cards and cash, without a circular way of converting them to Verizon gift cards/

They wont be sold out. there is a ton of stock everywhere. Just got back from best buy to pick up the apple tv and they have a ton. I also finally compared the 2 and 3 and to be honest it was really tough noticing a drastic change between both. The 3 is definitely sharper..

Similar experience here. I walked in to Target at 10:30 and out with 16Gb wifi for my mom in under 10 minutes. They had a few left.

It's my first so I'll be thrilled no matter what. :)

The Samsung front-load is better, I'm sure. :)

Pretty funny! I actually have the LG Front load... I DID NOT wait in line during black Friday for it, I simply bought it on homedepot.com for $499 and they delivered it in 2 weeks... It's an awesome piece of machinery. I use about 1 container of laundry soap a year, which I buy from Costco for under $20 bucks... So not only does it use less water, but it also uses a LOT less detergent... And all my clothes come out perfectly clean, and my clothes last a LOT longer now because the machine seems to be more gentle on them.

Kudos to LG for a great product there... The dryer on the other hand (also LG) leaves a lot to be desired. Probably because I have the electric one, but it doesn't always get the clothes dry, only if ALL the clothes are the same, i.e. if you have jeans mixed in with shirts the shirts will be dry but you might have to re-run the jeans for a bit.

Oh wait, we're talking about ipads!

The only lines I've seen are those who like to lineup at the Apple store. I drive by one on the way to the office and it was sheer madness this morning.

I walked into Walmart last night at 12:15 and found they had 50 iPads & no lines. Bought one & walked out. My pre-order arrived at 9:48AM FedEx just like my previous orders. FedEx is awesome.

Seems that Apples front loaded with a ton of inventory.

I hear front loaders need more cleaning maintenance along the front seal etc.

Jeans - ALL my dryers have done that!

Can't wait for my new iPad!!!!! :D

I waited for a couple hours at Wal-Mart last night, and bought white 16 (all they had, 10 of them) because I didnt care enough about the difference (looking for black 16 or 32) to wait.

Read the reports this morning, and got to Best Buy around noon. At least 30 left maybe more, bougnt a 32 black and returned my Wal-mart one unopened.

Wal-mart was a waste of time, but oh well Im satisfied got what i wanted. Im glad scalpers will probably have to sell at value.

I think a lot of people stand in lines because they want attention.

I pre-order online and get it the same day because I just the product.
