Something soon. I wouldnt get my hopes up for the 26th, but maybe. I know we will be getting some stuff with leopard, like notes syncing, so something is coming soon.

I am guessing the update will come between Tuesday and Thursday of next week. I would imagine they would want the update to be installed before people are installing Leopard on their computers.

Assuming everyone'll install Leopard. I hadn't thought of this before but they may add some features but not Leopard dependent. But then again someone mentioned somewhere that the iPhone is Leopard ready. Whatever that means...

Maybe not leopard dependant, but they will be coming with the "leopard update". On the other hand, they may make them leopard dependant, you want these features, buy leopard. Someone may have mentioned that already i didnt read the whole post.

When I was watching the video on Leopard, I noticed that there is a new notes AND "To Do" list sync feature that works with mail and iCal. I'm wondering if that would make it possible for iPhone users to then sync with those features, if they'll add a way to do that via iTunes? Maybe wishful thinking or misunderstanding of how things actually work, but I can dream, can't I?

I think Steve Jobs will do something "amazing" and "completely revolutionary". Maybe this time, instead of giving a $100 credit to all those who bought the iPhone early (like he already did), he'll issue a $200 invoice to all those who bought the iphone after he dropped the prices just to be fair since all the early adopters compained and a few even started sueing. When you think about it, that would be "amazing" and "completely revolutionary"

It doesn't take more than a brief look at Leopard to conclude:

* Notes syncing to Mail 3.0
* To-Do Lists syncing to Mail 3.0

I firmly believe we will see a 1.1.2 featuring the above. However, Leopard development has taken resources away from a Native iChat client for now. 1.2.0 will be when February Native Apps is released.

I believe we'll see a small update shortly.

1: To ensure that the iPhone is ready to sync with Leopard.

2: The iPhone was supposed to come out "day and date" with Leopard at one point. I believe that's why there are missing icons on the home screen.

3: I don't expect new functionality other than integration with Leopard until next year. I do expect the Leopard launch to add notes/to-do lists. It would be very nice to add a Preview capability that allows reading a lot of data formats. I don't need to edit on the phone, but to view it would be nice.

And of course, Flash wouldn't suck.

I would think that Apple would be bringing out at least 1.1.2 to help fix the problem in Safari with tiff files. That is for sure and update that will be brought out. Not sure about other stuff mixed with that though...

Completely agree with you, missing icons on the home screen designed for Leopard, no doubt...:apple:

Not if notes syncing is going to take place...

Seeing that its synced from an email box there is no updated needed to do this. More than likely if there is any added functionality its already there just not live yet - like they did with the iLife 80 .mac image hosting.

Giz: Are Mail To Do and iCal To Do the same?
Apple: There is one list of To Dos that can be expressed in both iCal and Mail. To Dos are also synced to your mail server, so you can see them from multiple machines.

Giz: What do Mail To Dos look like when viewed from 3rd party mail apps or from an iPhone?
Apple: To Dos show up as normal mail in 3rd Party and non-Leopard mail programs, including iPhones and Blackberrys.

Actually, I Don't think a lot of people Jailbreak their iPhone just seems that way to us.

Who is us?
Is that you and your mouse in your pocked

I'm actually very happy that there is a way to Jailbreack the iPhone again and will not update again unless I have too or there is some awesome feature I can't be without.

I was so mad at myself for jumping the gun and upgrading to 1.1.1 and lost all my precious apps I had gotten so used to, that I won't make that mistake again.

if thats the case, then ill have to buy a mac to get added iphone features?? I doubt that apple would leave pc users in the dark. Apples market share isnt that big yet.

I feel that Leopard will update the syncing ability on the Leopard side, and not really on the iPhone side.

Apple has in the past few years released new iPods in September - that is not early.

5 September 2007
12 September 2006
7 September 2005

The 5G iPod came in October 2005.. That was the last high end iPod release. My point was simply that with all of the emerging competition and the rush to compete in the iPhone space, perhaps Apple is holding a card for the Holiday. Maybe just a compelling software enhancement.

No 5.5 came out 12 Sept 2006 (new capacity and updated software).

I highly doubt Apple will pull anything out of it's hat before the holidays. marketing campaigns for high sellers for the holidays began months ago.

What I'd really like for an update to include is Bluetooth file transfer. I don't want to sync movies and music I just want to be able to send a receive pictures from friends and sync my calendars and contacts. I can do that with my Razr at the moment and it makes it soooo easy to keep up to date! So why can't we do this with the iPhone?!

Hardly a new model. You may be right, but we'll see.
