Though I wouldn't be surprised to see this feature in the actual release, this pic was proven to be a pbotoshopped fake...

The pic itself, yeah, but the exact wording of the subhead was proven to be in the code already, just not active. So it's likely it'll look more or less like the screenshot.

I would not say it was proven, and even if it was, it doesn't matter, because the code they found was definitely not photoshopped.

Edit: You got to it before me, gloss.

Well, in essence you're right. :)

There's definitely some trade offs with design in a device like this.

Indeed. I'm sort of accepting of the fact that the phone may prove a little larger (although if it has the sloped edges a la Macbook Air, it may actually feel better in the hand). I'm just hoping it packs the features I want - I've been waiting a year to pick one up, and I'm just about at the end of my rope.

It just gets annoying when people quote rumors as truth.

And the exact wording was not proven to be there. Only that there was a string that seems to enable/disable 3G. The quote was that the string is there, but there's no indication of how the pref will look.

Also, there's lots of strings in every version of iPhone firmwares that aren't active, especially in Prferences.app.

But it makes total sense for there to be away to enable/disable 3G. Especially when people see how short their battery life is...
