According to my film journal, I watched that on the 7th of last month. Wasn't as good as I remembered it being back when it came out. Though, I did watch Killers (2010) last week and that was worse than I remember it being. Also saw Eye of the Needle. Quality film. Watch it.
I remember that as being an outstanding film. Donald Sutherland?

Yes! At the beginning, he has a half-assed English accent, by the middle of it he drops it. So typical of the era. Though I never recalled seeing Kate Nelligan nude in the film as I did that day. I either forgot or I'd seen edited versions. I wish they wrote out the child, though. His parts, all blegh, cut into the tenseness of the film and ruined it, IMO.

I'm probably going to check out that Richard III movie posted earlier on this page. I need something good after having sat through so many boring Hallmark films this last month.

The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970) - finally saw this in Italian today. Molto Bene. Very strong start for Dario Argento which ignited the giallo craze in Italy. American writer Sam Dalmas witnesses an attempted murder at an art gallery in Rome and finds himself sucked into the case. Unfortunately becoming armchair detective also means he and his lovely girlfriend Julia become targets of the killer.

The revelation of just who the killer is remains one of the best in the genre (and my second favorite from Dario.) This is a pretty nasty, violent look at how one incident can screw someone up so badly they need to destroy others.

So began my SW marathon before episode 8 comes out.

The worst of all the franchise.
After all that time there was such expectation for the next film.
So why did it fail so badly? A lot of the blame was placed on young Jake's shoulders.
But Liam Nielsen who I rate highly as an actor didn't shower himself in glory. The same can be said of Ewan McGreger. He also didn't do as well as he has in other films.
Not sure if it was acting with a CGI character (who has far too much screen time) or just the nerve of being part of such a great franchise.
It could and should have been so much better, but I still don't want a remake!

Up next attack of the clones.

Drunken Master (1978) and Dragon Lord (1982)

Both prove why I am not a Jackie Chan fan. Almost three years into my intensive fu film revival, I have seen countless martial arts performers who outclass him in every way. Through acting, comedy, stunts, storytelling, and delivering that amazing Kung Fu, JC does not deliver.

I occasionally watch some of Jackie’s early films for one reason alone: if actor-fighters I enjoy are in the movies. Such was the case here.

Hwang Jang Lee’s awesome kicking and punching skills in Drunken Master, and Chan Wai Man’s heroic thief gone good guy in Dragon Lord. CWM does not get much opportunity to strut his stuff (as was also the case in Project A II), so like any JC movie that means fast forwarding through Jackie to get the character I like.

Mom was half watching Drunken Master with me and the poor dear asked me why I dislike Jackie. So why bother? One reason: Hwang Jang Lee. Like any JC movie villain, he is not introduced until very late in the story, making the wait painful. As this was on tv I spent most of the time talking with mom waiting for Hwang to show up.

Much better than episode one.
It does relay a bit too heavily on CGI but although a good story that sets the scene for episode 3.
I like that we get to find out about Bobba Fetts back story. And I think the acting is a big improvement over episode one.
A decent battle scene at the end to.

I just watched Justice League yesterday and I must say I did not truly enjoy it. The CGI looked cartoonish, the villain seemed like a joke, and the plot wasn't interesting. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it was better than Batman vs. Superman, but still not worth the ticket price. 6.5/10

Its not often that we get to see such wonderful scenes in movies these days. IMHO

It's really terrific, it came very recommended through various channels - totally agree, top N time travel movies.

If you liked that, also check out [the not a time travel movie] Daybreakers, same writers/directors, the Spierig Brothers, and also starring Ethan Hawke again.
Watched DayBreakers last night. It was good, interesting concept. I put their first film on my queue. Its about zombies, hopefully they have a unique concept with the walking dead too.

Yes! This is terrific, we watched it several months ago, we tend to like docs about music/bands, the music industry.

Undead is pretty entertaining, it's a "horror comedy", very gory, lots of fun callbacks to the genre.
