Hey everyone! Sorry for bringing up this thread again, but since WWDC is coming up in a few days, let’s open the floor for discussions about the upcoming watchOS 12/26 beta launch.

Here are some things I’ve gathered so far:

- Apple might rename iOS 19 to iOS 26 to be more consistent with the naming and go based on the year of the version. So, watchOS 26 is most likely to be renamed.

- Compatibility with watchOS 26 might be similar to watchOS 11. I’m still using the Apple Watch Series 6, and I haven’t experienced any crashes or speed issues yet.

I’ll redirect my friends from @LarryJoe33 ’s watchOS 11 beta thread to the watchOS 12 or 26 beta thread, just in time for WWDC. Let’s get started!

How about a Watch face that you could create by adding and rearranging the complications? I think it would be pretty nice if we could design a face similar to widgets and apps on the iPhone Home Screen

Bring back the OG modular Apple Watch face!

Y’all WWDC is tomorrow!
Anyone have any speculation or rumours for watchOS 26/12?
I hope they don’t kick the Apple Watch Series 6 off the shelves for compatibility. Should be the same as watchOS 11!

I’m ready to beta test it tomorrow after the keynote! Including the iOS 26 version!

I'll put it in this thread... I want the Apple Watch to be more flexible in the pairing. That is I want to be able to pair it to multiple iPhones much like how AirPods work.
As someone who as gone to a two iPhone system (love my mini but also wanted a larger iPhone with better battery for some occasions) I've found the lack of being about to use my Apple Watch with them BOTH a major drawback.

Big must have. We don’t want it to be a hassle when changing iPhones and y’all have to unpair and pair the Apple Watches ⌚️ again!

I do not feel there will be any leaps in technology on the Apple Watch. Some software tweaks will be about all we will get.

My number one wish! If they could just purchase Footpath and integrate it in the Workout app as a screen please
If it happens, I will ask myself if it’s worth continuing my app …
But I am pretty sure Apple won’t embrace a flexible standard like GPX.

Yes, integrating Maps (with turn-by-turn navigation and possibly GPX files) with the Workout app is a must at this point.
4 minutes to go for WWDC, y’all!

All the Apple Watch Ultra users who love wearing their watch to bike, race and run 🏃 a lot would really appreciate this feature. Y’all garmins have that, right?

It seems they have said something about a route feature, but they haven’t shown anything.
But it’ available NOW in 3rd party apps !

Nailed it. If there is a WWDC session bout it I will link it in a later post. But it’s really a great idea especially in running apps like yours.

From a sports perspective Apple is taking nothing away from 3rd party developers with watchOS 26.
Can’t remember I’ve been so disappointed about a watchOS update before - Nothing except a design tweak and a workout buddy no one asked for

I did not have high expectations frankly. Like the new design but will never use Workout Buddy. I am already annoyed by the medals, why would I want my watch to talk to me during my runs? ;-)
But understand that this might motivate some folks.
The gesture to dismiss notifications is good and finally Notes is on the watch. So overall ok for me.

This feature is really designed for beginners and casual runners.
Nothing interesting for more "serious" users.
They haven't really shown the new workout app. I don't know if it's available in first beta.

Totally agree on custom faces and more control over double tap! Also hoping for better offline Maps integration for runs/hikes. Not everyone has cellular on their watch.

Yeah and not showing the workout app off, is actually a bit worrying as well - if it were good it would be front and centre
