I use Thunderbird because at the time, mail was weak and Eudora had just ruined everything I had.

Is Thunderbird on the Mac the same as Windows? I've been using Thunderbird on my PC for several years now.

I use Thunderbird... started using it while I was on PC and just loved it!! I have two email accounts a POP3 for personal use and an IMAP for info from the university and edducational stuff and Thunderbird just makes it so easy to manage both...

I never really gave Mail a chance, but since Thunderbird is perfect for my needs I'm pretty sure I won't bother to go through setting up mail... :)

I agree. I have 4 accounts, two IMAP, two POP3, so thunderbird works great for me.

I started using Thunderbird not too long ago and love it.

The thing I hated about Mail was that my university account (Exchange or IMAP, whichever protocol I fancy) has public folders, and damn, do they make use of them. There are about 25,000 unread messages in public folders, and Mail would try to download them. Thunderbird lets me pick and choose what folders I want to deal with, so I just have my inbox, outbox, sent, etc, selected and its as if the public folders don't even exist.

Oh, I didn't think of that... :p

It's set to check every minute and neither it's automated checking nor manually pressing the Get Mail button works. Strange bug.

I use Entourage... I love its professional layout and ability to assign a category to almost anything. I like the complete calendar/mail client look.

However, I've tried Entourage on an Intel Mac and I just wouldn't be able to cope with it. Via rosetta start up and general use is soo laggy compared to the native Mail.app. When I get a MB/MBP I'll probably just use Mail or Thunderbird :( until Office 2008 comes out.
