My almost four year old Sony Ericsson T616. What a little warrior. I dropped it so many times and still worked perfectly. It still looked pretty good and people asked me about it b/c it had a white opal faceplate and was so small. I hope my iphone is as sturdy and dependable.

Same here, so I have been lusting for a more capable phone for some time. When Apple announced the iPhone, I decided to wait the six months for its arrival.

I thoroughly abused my T616, although not intentionally. 😀 It withstood a lot of punishment and kept on ticking. I even landed on it while mountain biking once (it was in a front, zippered pocket in my bike shorts and withstood my weight crashing into the ground on top of it) and I thought for sure it would be dead. Some pixels on the screen became stuck as a result of that incident, but the phone itself was fine!

Needless to say, I won't be putting the iPhone in any shorts pockets while biking, but it will be tucked away in my CamelBak (in a leather case that completely encloses the phone).

I have a SE w810i that is a wonderful, wonderful phone that I am no longer using. 🙂 I will probably be selling it, and then buy a cheap, crappy phone for those times when I don't want to use the iPhone. The w810i is worth a little too much to use it as a backup.

Wow, that is amazing discipline.

I had the SE T520, then the T525 which was a wasted upgrade. I spent a fortune on them since I wanted them unlocked so I would not be tied to those dirt merchants at AT&T.

I tried to do what you did which is wait out the iPhone. My T525 is barely working at this point. It looks terrible. It turns off randomly. Bluetooth is temperamental. Syncing barely works

My regrets?

1. I should have not purchased the second, minor upgraded . 400 bucks wasted.

2. All my years to stay free of contracts will come crashing down when I activate my new iPhone. (I still have not done it yet.)

I hate that I have to be tied to those scum bags at AT&T. How they sold us all out to the NSA and now the media companies is disgraceful.

But, at home waiting for me is a new iPhone. (I have been traveling so I haven't been home yet to play with my new beauty.) The wait, I am sure, will be worth it.

From what I can tell, the iPhone is not perfect, but is a great start and I am sure many of the missing features will be added in software updates.
