Android can do some things, like USB host, that other mobile OSs simply cannot match.

Actually Symbian, and I believe, Maemo already have been doing that for years. Now you know why Symbian people often get angry and how Android people are stealing their credits. :D (and mention something about built-in FM transmitter)

On the topic of this thread, I'd LOVE to have an iPod Touch phone. I know it's not really possible considering the small battery, etc, but I really like the form factor of the iPod Touch since it slips in and out of my pocket so easily and the screen is still big enough for my preference. I use the first Galaxy S (4" screen) and even that feel a bit big to me even though my hand is fairly large.

Why not just use a keyboard you like then? There are dozens to choose from.

I did but none of them were right for me. Might have been because my hands are so small, but who knows. No big deal. Loved that phone and if I didn't break it i'd probably still be using it.

iOS+Android = everything a man can ask for.

4S Love the screen. Easy to use one handed, crystal clear high resolution, good color reproduction IPS.

Samsung and Moto handsets I've used leave a lot to be desired in the display realm.

Exactly. One thing I love about the iPhone is how compact it is.

i really like the nokias design and design of the screen

EXCEPT for the plastic case..

so i prefer the apple overall

(obviously when i say nokia i mean the new lumia)

Plastic is not a bad thing to have. I was watching something educational from The History Channel yesterday and didn't realize polycarbonate is used to make bulletproof glass. And teflon is considered plastic too. At least polycarbonate is more resistant to shatter than glass. If you want stronger materials used, there is the HTC One S with its ceramic metal.

I have always been in love with the DroidX's hardware.

I'm really looking forward to when the Samsung Galaxy S III gets announced. Third time might just be the charm for Sammy. Those rumored specs has got me salivating. Ceramic case like the HTC One S too. If Apple's rivals can work hard on battery life and use more durable materials, then the gap has really narrowed.

It would be either the Droid Razr Maxx. 3 day battery life with a silky smooth iOS5? Oh hell yeah.

If I could choose between any I would have a hard time choosing between the Motorola RAZR Maxx, Nokia Lumia 900, and HTC One X. I love the designs on all three of those phones.
People need to remember this is a hypothetical situation in an ideal world where iOS would run perfectly on whichever hardware you chose.

I know that, I've been using Symbian from the Nokia 3650 (remember those? :p) to the Nokia N95. Sadly they have failed to merge their massive feature set in an usable touch interface. If they could have managed to do that in time instead of having RIM syndrome, they wouldn't be forced to sign a blood pact with Microsoft, and could have remained the reliable top-end phone company we all loved.
