I'm looking at square trade now it looks just like AppleCare except its $50 instead of $79 for replacements. Oh and I see square trade covers up to 4 clad vs AC only doing 2.

I also heard about something called protect your bubble?

Personally, I don't do insurance with any company that can basically can just tell me to kick rocks over the phone. The ability to drive to apple store and speak to someone in person is worth the extra 30 bucks in service fees.

I mean I've never lost a phone before. My HTC Rezound did break a few times. A few times it was the hardware just not working and I got a refurb sent for free. But I did break the screen 1 time and was happy that I had insurance, I only had to pay $75 versus $200 something. I only broke it once in the 2 1/2 years I had it, but it did happen. God forbid I break the iPhone screen or something, I don't have $800 for a new one.

Most of the services that provide 4 claims, you can only do 2 claims a year. If you clusmy as hell and you break 2 phones in the first 5 months, you have to wait until the 12 months is up until you get a 3rd one. From what I've read from these post is that AC is the best due that your dealing directly with Apple and you can go to the store and leave with a replacement. SquareTrade seems like a pain in the butt. You got to put up the money to buy the replacement, send ST the bill and wait to get you refund. I dont have a couple hundred dollars laying around if my phone breaks.

Asurion is terrible do not give them your money. You are paying monthly for the insurance + when you do break the phone you are still stuck paying a very high deductible. If you're worried about losing it or having it stolen then insurance may be the way for you, otherwise I would say don't even bother. Right now you can get an iphone 4/4s screen fixed at a local repair shop for $70ish. Asurion is $10 a month + a $169 deductible. iPhone 5s/5c deductibles are even higher. You could break your phone twice over and still not even have paid as much as it would have cost for one replacement from Asurion, and that does not include the $10 your paying monthly. It's a scam.

I work at a repair shop in my local mall and the guys that work at the corporate verizon and AT&T, and a non corporate T-Mobile store send their customers with broken phones to us and do not recommend them to get insurance because even they know its a ripoff.

I'm getting confused between all theses insurances and all these numbers being thrown around. I'm down to just two, AC and SquareTrade, I need to pick one by end of day. Let me know if I'm understanding these correctly.

AC. I pay $100 up front for the insurance (2 years), if my phone breaks I pay them $79 for a new or refurb iPhone. 2 claims allowed total. I can simply walk into any Apple store and leave with a replacement that day.

ST. I pay $100 (price is from Amazon) up front for the insurance (2 years). If my phone breaks I pay a deductible of $75. I have a total of 4 claims vs AC 2. I then read somewhere there are 2 or 3 ways to get the replacement.
A) Take the damaged phone to an Apple store, pay the deductible plus the cost of the 5s replacement (no clue what that is). I then get reimbursed for the phone minus the $75.
B) They send me a replacement overnight for $75 and then I ship them back the broken one. Is it $75 or $99?
C) Cant remember.

I'm probably getting this all twisted so just let me know how wrong in have it lol. I always thought that, I'll use AC as an example, I pay $99 up front for 2 years of insurance then if my phone breaks I got to pay $99 + $79 for each replacement.

Hi Budmonster!

We know choosing insurance can be a challenge. We wanted to reach out to you to explain how we differ from our competitors and address any concerns you may have.

Our mission is to help you reconnect with your world quickly, easily and at a cost far less than what you’d pay for a new device. In addition to covering physical damage, we also cover liquid damage, loss and theft; where most do not. All of our replacements come with a 12-month limited warranty and we offer next business delivery. We have store associates, phone representatives, technical assistance teams, online chat support and social media representatives to address any concerns you may have. We even have select plans that will protect your precious phone data. In addition to those great feature, in most cases, our service saves our customers hundreds of dollars in the event of a loss.

Traditionally, the money you normally pay when purchasing a new device is not the full retail cost. It is subsidized by your carrier when you sign up for a contract. If your phone is damaged, lost or stolen during your contract period, you would be required to pay the full retail cost to purchase a new device from your carrier. Full retail cost can be $400-$900 or more. Of course you can opt to purchase a refurbished or pre-owned phone at a deeply discounted rate, from an outside vendor; but you would also have to assume the risks associated with that type of purchase. We welcome you to review the financial benefits of having our coverage here: http://www.gottahavemymobile.com/learn-about-the-benefits/financial-benefits/.

We hope we have demonstrated the value in our service. We would love to have you as our valued customer. We welcome you to view complete details of our coverage at www.phoneclaim.com. We are also here to answer any questions you may have. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thank you,
