Well, it seems that 79% of the users responding to the poll would like an iPhone with a screen size bigger than the current 4 inch. That includes me, I would like one with a screen size anywhere between 4.7 and 5.
Now I'm deeply deeply concerned as to how are they going to increase the size of the display with a minimal increase in form factor. The only way to do that was by redesigning the old fashioned home button in order to make it smaller in order to increase screen size and drastically reduce screen to bezel ratio. But now that they have this new gimmick sensor in the home button, they will keep this design for a few years which will limit how big the display may get (probably a miscellaneous increase such as to 4.2 or 4.3 inches.
Something amazing would have been to have a corner of the screen act as the fingerprint sensor and drastically reduce the size of the home button.
Anyways, this has me very worried. I'll wait up to 6 months to see what news arise regarding the bigger iPhone to finally decide to wait for the iPhone 6 or just go ahead and abandon the iPhone, because I won't wait for September 2014 for a screen less than 4.7 inches, not anymore.
There is no doubt that the majority of users want a bigger screened iPhone but there is widespread opinions as to how big.

So, what size do you want?
I would be ok with 4.7. The htc1 mini doesn't seem much wider then the 5 but the screen still seems much better sized... I think apple could do even better with keeping the phone size down on that size of screen then HTC.
I really don't want my phone to get much wider.. Also i like the 16:9 aspect ratio of the 5..
Also.. Just because a lot of people don't want a huge screen doesn't mean that we want an iphone "c"heap.. And there are probably just as many people who would like an iphone C with a larger screen.. So screw the 4" only for plastic idea.
The 4" one is ok, but it's a bit on the big side.
I was thinking the exact same thing. There is always the possibility they shrink the home button to accommodate for this. But even at its current size there is room to increase the screen considerably. Take the HTC One for example, there is a ton of bezel bc of the speakers. There is more than enough space for an iPhone button there and the screen is 4.7". However this does mean the size of the device will be bigger than it has to be. Holding a Moto x (4.7") and htc one (4.7") is drastically different especially since the Moto x has even less bezel because of the onscreen buttons. I'd definitely prefer that route and I'm sure apple values that too (every iPhone has shrunken in dimensions). So that does have me worried that they may not opt for as big of a screen due to overall size constraints. I'm also in the same boat as you. I love iOS and everything apple but also own a sgs4 and not sure how much longer I want to hold out on a bigger iPhone. I don't want a phablet (even the s4 is on the big side) but almost everything is better on a bigger screen IMO.

If apple wants to appeal to the elderly, visually impaired, or anyone who doesn't want to squint (age 30+ in my experience), they would do well to have a larger screen option. There are actual physical, workspace, text size, even medical reasons why we should have a bigger phone option.
Keep the tiny screen for the fanboys and apologists, and give the rest of us old people a chance to look at our phone without squinting or zooming to have 3 words per screen.
I can barely reach the top corners of the 5 right now. Bigger is not better in my case. When you have kids you tend to use the device one handed quite often.
