My son's smile and my daughter's hugs.

Sadly, they can also be the cause of bad moods at times.

As for those who answered 'that look from my wife,' cherish that as it doesn't always last forever. We're going on 14 years in February and I don't even remember what that 'look' is like.:(

I go 15 years this week, and I still know that look. Keep working at it.

Now my Daughters hugs are a thing of the past though. She is nearly 12 now and doesn't like a hug from her dad ever. To see her smile and laugh (however rare) is still priceless!

Are you male by any chance?:p

How'd you guess? Apple fanboy is quite gender specific. The ability of sex to lift ones mood however is not!

Long, lost, and fast drives in my Mazda 3. Lets me escape from the situation and think.

Animals ....... my dogs.

Children ....... my twin nieces.

And riding my motorbike.

Those usually get me out of a bad mood.

I'm sure a lot of things can snap me out of bad moods, but if I'm in a bad mood... I like to have a little bit of time for myself. I don't need much, but I am not a huge fan of deliberate attempts to make me feel better. That being said, there are plenty of things that I just can't resist smiling about.

I don't hold grudges at all though. I'll get over something really fast.

anything really funny

for me that's usually 1970s comedy shows and/or movies.

Also comedians, George Carlin will always make me crack up no matter how many times I've heard the skit.

Sometimes certain bands pull me out of a bad mood too: I make sure I have Motorhead's funnier songs available at all times.

Going for a run, a bicycle ride or one of my cats jumping up on me for scratches that result in a loving puuuurrrrrr in return.

Buying an Apple product normally brings a smile to my face as well. :apple::D

First I check the physical states and then move on to the emotional ones:

Food. Low blood sugar can convince me the end is near on a perfectly nice day and on very short notice.

Fresh air (oxygen to the brain is a mood changer).

Music.

Counting my blessings -- but has to be my idea, not yours... remember that line in the Medicine Ball track from Rogue Wave: "i had enough o' yer sermonized speeches; it was the food that I wanted..."

May sound hookie, but ever time I see my wife's smile or the way she looks at me, it brightens up even the darkest days....
Doesn't sound hokie at all! I feel the same way!
Going for a ride on my motorcycle. The feeling of freedom can snap me out of a bad mood pretty quick.
A nice long Harley ride just washes the stress away! The only thing better is a nice long Harley ride with my wife behind me and her arms around me!

Of course, that varies from one couple to another. For us, well over 20 years, it's better than it was at the beginning!

Going to really good restaurant!

Yeah, I love heading out to a good restaurant, with a good book and just soaking up the atmosphere. And the wine. :)

Random acts of kindness/friendliness/silliness also work wonders.

Also, at some point in my life I realised things will turn out good/bad regardless of how much I fret and worry about them - and I used to worry a LOT. So, since not worrying is more fun than worrying.... I choose not to. Every time I get stressed now, I just remind myself of that, and it helps.

This is a great outlook. I am pretty much the same way. I used to get really angry and upset at the most mundane things. Nowadays, it takes quite a bit to get me revved up, and it usually comes down to someone else failing to do something that puts an extra burden on me. And traffic. Nothing gets me screaming like traffic.

As far as what snaps me out of a bad mood, certain music and adult-themed entertainment. :D

Going on 21 years together, married for 14. Loved every minute of it.... Sorry to hear this though.

You're one of the lucky ones.
