This is basically my approach in a nutshell +iCloud:

TOP works with Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive. I mainly use it to move stuff between each service. Works well enough.

Ok seems nice and works for you, however I want all my stuff in one place as it is already backed up on an external drive, however I do not know what platform is best. I decided to start getting rid of movies I am so bored of watching, music I never listen to Willie Nelson (Ex-Wife's stuff) and cleaning up all my apps as I want to be able to live in the 512GB Max spectrum, but I am down to 998GB from 1.2 TB. So can get more streamlined between the external WiFi drive and clean up the clutter, I will be ok.

Personally I think Box has the best (and most functional) standalone application for iPad out of every cloud service I use. I'm not sure what their pricing tiers are though.

For those needing more Dropbox storage you can just log into your account on a Galaxy or HTC phone and they give 50GB extra storage.

Oh Yeah!!

Yeah I use Flickr as well, but keep that content also backed up on other services. Flickr is pretty awesome for just sharing photos and organizing them. The only weak point is the free version is not very good for videos, limiting them in length.

It does bother me that Flickr still doesn't have an iPad app. I should explore third party options for Flickr soonish.

Yeah, I guess the app I use on my iPad is actually built for the iPhone, but it still works. You really don't need to have a Flickr app though, most of the time I just use Safari to get on their website. I can upload photos and video from there on my iPad, and also edit my photos as well. I just wish it would save my videos in full HD 1080p, I think it compresses them somewhat, but they still look pretty good playing back on my HDTV thru Flickr on my Apple TV.

I'm also hoping they provide software editing for videos inside the Flickr home page in the future ( trimming, titles, PIP, color, contrast, special effects, etc... ). That would be grand!

:) :) :) :)

this is wireless carrier dependent !! No ATT Galaxy or HTC devices get the dropbox deal

I'm using a mixture of iCloud, OneDrive and DropBox.

iCloud is for my contacts, calendar and emails.
OneDrive is for my documents and pictures
DopBox for everything else, though its getting replaced more and more by OneDrive due to the superior space quota. I still have my FileMaker Pro database in DropBox as that seems the best solution to use FMP on both my Mac and iPad

Naturally, I use iCloud like most everyone else on here. contacts, calendars, device backup, etc. Next most important is probably Evernote. Digital file cabinet. It's mainly for notes, articles from the web and emails, although I do keep some files in it for reference. And then comes Dropbox. The best and smartest thing about Dropbox is that it's integrated with so many apps and services. They've done a terrific job in striking up partnerships with other companies. No other cloud storage company, perhaps save Google, can say the same at the moment.

Dropbox and Google Drive have been serving me well for quite some time. Drive has been especially versatile and fast. The convenience of its reliability and functionality across the platforms I use is very beneficial.

Home Cloud Storage

Does anyone use a home cloud storage device? If so, what brand and model do you use? And how much storage does it give you? And does it work OK, good, great, awesome, or fabulous!?

PS - Clouds could cloud clouds!

What Solution do you use for Cloud Storage

iCloud for mail/cal/contact etc. (5GB)

Dropbox for syncing most apps as it's probably the widest supported (8GB)

OneDrive for some MS stuff although find the lack of a business OSX client a pain (25GB)

ownCloud on my FreeNAS box for everything else (8TB+)

:D

Dropbox gets the job done for me. Super fast and reliable syncing amongst my devices and very easy to use.

Dropbox only gives you 2gigs free to start, and 1gig for using the mailbox app. Outside of spamming friends, or paying $100 a year for 50gigs, 2 - or 3 gigs doesn't go far. The iCloud allotment is sorely lacking, in my opinion.

And this is why I use BOX. Got 50GB free and there's nothing Drop Box offers over BOX. For anyone they offer 10GB free but if you have the right Eagle eye you can get 50GB free. :)

I have Box. But, you are limited in the size of file you can upload to your box. I have a lot of items that exceed the upload limit per file.

Automatic upload from iDevices. Box is great but saying nothing drop box offers is better is a large stretch of the imagination.

I honestly have no problem with someone arguing against my point but you need to keep personal attacks out of it okay? "Large stretch of the imagination" was unnecessary.

Now, exactly what automatic uploads from iOS devices are you referring to? I have both BOX and Drop Box. And what else does Drop Box offer over Box?

Well there has to be some sort of trade off. With BOX you get as much as 50GB free with no funny games played such as inviting friends to join just to get a tiny bit more storage free. With only 2+GB on Drop Box it's not even a point to talk about in regards to large files to upload.

iCloud - back ups, apps, etc...
Bitcasa - Im using it kind of like a USB flash drive. Drop stuff I want to have an offsite copy of...i.e. interval copies of my iPhoto library. I also use it to store my iTunes Library. It helps in saving a lot of space on my first generation 11" MBA.

I use iCloud for iWork, backups of my iOS devices, sharing pictures and all settings sync (favorites, keychain, etc).
I use Dropbox for all my files and as a backup for my home videos. Have 106GB on Dropbox.
I also use OneDrive to store my work files, but this is mainly because of Microsoft Office and OneNote. The same files exist on Dropbox too..I have 50GB on OneDrive.

The best cloud storage service is Dropbox. It's fast, reliable, has a great sync client for OS X that supports symbolic links, has no file size limits and it's secure.

I thought Box doesn't do sync with Mac the same way Dropbox does. At least for the free version?

I put all of pictures and some documents in the Dropbox and recent I signed up with Box I am not sure what I want to do with Box. iCloud is filled with Pages and Keynotes data. :apple:
