What the hell my 09/19 AT&T order got moved to 10/13 - 10/31??

    I was able to place an order right away on AT&Ts site and it said 09/19 when I placed the order, as did the confirmation order as you can see below...

    Then just now I get this email from AT&T?

    Is everyone else seeing this as well?

    This is why I never, NEVER trust AT&T with a pre-order. They have done this with EVERY SINGLE iPhone release. Always buy straight from Apple if you want to be on time. I know AT&T was first out the gate on pre-order night, but now it sure will suck not to get your phone on time :(

    I was actually able to get my 6+ directly from Apple as AT&T was showing 14-21 days right out of the gate so I didn't even try...good thing I guess. This is for another phone on my account, not for me though.

    So you pre ordered at 3am on AT&T's site? That worries me lol. I got 3 in at around 4 or 4:30am....my 64GB Space Gray ship date says 9/17-9/18. 64GB Gold moved from 9/17 to 9/23 - 10/2. And 64GB silver is still processing.

    I think most ppl will experience this scenario with their current order.
    This holds true to every years preordering.
    In this day and age, this should be something that should be long forgotten, but the fact that cell manufacturers are all about turnover, this will be the usual for years to come.
    It's very frustrating indeed !
    It's too bad that we just take it and do nothing about it.
    Maybe, you should cancel and just hit a local store on Friday as I will be.
    I hope you get it straightened out.

    So I tried to place an order through Apple.com which shows 7-10 days delivery but it won't let me because it says I already used my upgrade (on the AT&T order). If I cancel the AT&T order, will it update quickly so I can order on Apple.com or is that just going to be an even bigger mess?

    I ordered a 64GB Space Gray before you did (around 3:20am) and my ship date says 10/31 to 11/11. I think we should just wait for them to get this sorted out.

    I think AT&T's system is in turmoil right now. I'll bet that things will settle out next week when they can sort their inventory etc. I wouldn't worry too much, these dates might not mean a thing yet. Mine is now October 31-November 13, and I ordered 8 minutes before 12 PST.

    Your best bet would be to contact AT&T directly.
    This will be your best conclusion on your given question.
    They will do their best to keep you (the customer) happy. Therefore, your best answer will be "answered" by a rep.

    I got the same thing, lol ordered through ATT cause the app store was down. I guess we'll have to wait it out. I feel it may ship earlier though, we'll see.

    You should always go thru Apple for pre-orders. Carriers don't get the inventory they need for the first week or so as Apple holds onto most of it.

    I would call and see what they say. If they don't somehow honor the initial date, I would cancel my order out of principal after talking with a supervisor.

    .....and then I would post my experience all over the internet.

    That sucks. I guess i got lucky in that I ended up canceling my at&t order for the exact same model and reordered it from Apple yesterday.

    OP,what do you consider "right away"? If you are after 3am ET, there were many ahead of you,some as early as 246am. Mine was 255am and I'm still 9/19.
    I hope it arrives earlier than stated.

    Mine got slipped too, and I ordered mine while most people were still stuck on that placeholder screen (somehow I managed to get thru).

    Right now I'm looking at Sept 23-02 Oct. I'm pretty bummed, I was hoping to get it before my vacation.

    I would possibly try pre ordering at Walmart (they don't check the upgrade or require money down).

    i had a call about a cancellation. The wait was a little long, but the rep was extremely kind and helpful. I had to confirm I was on the phone with an AT&T rep.

    I have seen the email you posted before, but where do you go to see the expected arrival date? I haven't seen any such screen, only expected ship date.
