The video actually looked clunky and not that user friendly. I'd prefer to see something close to Intelliscreen. Perhaps come 3.1 and limited background apps, we will.

I've seen some nice lockscreens in the Spring/Winterboard screenshot thread. Time, date, temp, a simple "current weather" logo, maybe a simple notification on SMS/Email etc. I don't want a bunch of stuff on the lockscreen just basic info.

Do you really want that many actions at the home screen? Im sure when that is released it will work very smoothly. Also, is it really that hard to swipe to unlock and then glance to see what your missing.

One of the upsides to Windows based phones over the iPhone is customization. Maybe it will be possible to add custom sliders for other applications.

It is when notifications aren't in one place. Phone has its own, messages, email, calendar etc. Give me one centralized place to locate this stuff and I wouldn't much care if it was on the lock screen or the first thing you see after unlocking. As the number of applications grows we'll have to start checking 2-3 pages for notifications vs one place. Give me something along the lines of the search results for spotlight with all my notifications when I first unlock the screen. I just don't want to have to check 4 icons minimum to see if anything is going on.

Also, while it might have taken microsoft until 6.5 to get a feature apple doesn't have it took Apple 3 versions to give me MMS something throwaway freebie cellphones have come with for years. There really isn't much if anything iphone can do that win mo can't. I'm not talking in regards to ease of use, implementation etc. strictly feature for feature core os functionality.

This has pretty much been the way MS/Apple work though, same features but Apple generally has a much smoother/easier to use implementation.

it is VERY handy to have. i'm hoping it's just a matter of time they add this into the OS.

I saw patents awhile back from Apple that had those alerts on the lock screen. We'll probably see it in 3.0.

I think intellescreen really got the useablility down perfectly, id much rather see that then this.

It seemed very apple-esque, while the method the OP posted seems very MS-esque.

How long has Windows Mobile been out? Hmm... And how long has the iPhone been out again?

They've had plenty more time to improve things, and Apple is still doing better.

i just want to bloody see the next upcoming appointment. is this too much to ask apple?
