Ya, I'd made one with the text instead of the logo, but it disappeared somewhere along with the poll that I couldn't find out how to edit.

You're the guy that made the custom tones a little while back, no? I made a few myself in garageband thanks to your idea and wanted to share, but I couldn't reach you via PM so you can post them in the thread and I forgot about it.

Yeah! You can try sending them to me now.

A circle actually makes more sense seeing as the numbers, and signal dots are circles. I think they are going for more "fun shapes". I don't really like it, but it is what it is

iOS 7.1 Dialer would be labelled as "WTF?"

I would say iOS 6 was more skeuomorphic. If you take a look at the buttons, you will notice a gap between them as if they are individual buttons.

iOS 7 is much more clean. Why clutter the interface and have an add contact button and delete button unless there are actually numbers typed in? iOS 7 is supposed to rethink previous design choices and I think by removing button we have been conditioned to seeing and only showing them when necessary, we get a much more pleasing design.

What if they introduce two new buttons(adding features) as part of the actual release? They could still surprise us.

Just my 2 cents..

The iOS 5 one was ok for its time. 6 was ugly. 7 is nice, but the round one is ok too. I kinda like those pill shaped buttons though. Whatever.

This is the most functional dialer I have used. I wish apple had the smart dial feature.

Someone suggested an app called "Fliple" as an alternative for that kind of thing...might be worth a try.

Not really, the iOS 7 dialer looks like an elevator keypad with flat circular buttons, they're all a bit skeuomorphic, but the iOS 6 one is the most.

This is annoying me..

Hey guys, Sorry to bulge in and take you off topic but. talking of the Keypad and iOS 7? I'm using an iPhone 4S, Just updated to the iOS 7.1.2 And i can't help but notice the Dailpad extremely TINY! It's frustrating. It was much better on the 7.0.x. Now it looks like it's scaled down and just tiny.

Anyone else having the same view, Or is it just me?

Am I the only one here wondering why someone would still dial numbers?

For anyone who prefers to dial phone numbers, I'd like to suggest an alternative:
