Instead of a self-cleaning screen... how about a smudge-resistant screen surface somehow. Maybe like a matte coating on the screen that is made with finer bumps so the image on the screen doesn't look defused. That would be wicked cool! I think the screen is too glossy.

Also, while we're on glossy... get rid of the glossy plastic on the back. Bring matte back!

What I think the iPhone needs most is a unified Notification stream, a la the Message app on Blackberry's. That is one of the iPhones biggest weaknesses, IMO.
