What time should I camp out?

I was there at 4AM last year and there were ten ahead of me. When the pr-order line formed, I was third.

I thought the account owner is the only person that can purchase the phone?

They can if they are:

A) Over 18
B) An Authorized user on the account
C) Able to provide the last 4 of the primary account holders soc #

May want to confirm the above with your local att/apple/best buy/radioshack/walm...ok dont call walmart they suck

Sound about right. The mall that I live near doesn't open until 5. That's when I'm going (and I have a pre-order)
