Well no, I just like being prepared for when the untethered jailbreak comes out and say something happens and I have to restore my iPhone. I don't want to wait for it to download again. Now I know that iTunes is supposed to know you've already downloaded it, but sometimes it doesn't and starts doing it again. It takes just about the same amount of time to go online and download it than through iTunes. Err, if you know how to find it.

dont even respond to immature posts like that. do your thing

My itunes say next update will be on 9.19.2012
That date just indicates when it will automatically check for an update. If I remember correctly, it checks once per week (unless you don't connect your phone for longer than seven days, in which case it will check whenever the phone is connected). It doesn't necessarily mean that Apple will be releasing anything on that date.

its usually released around 19:00 or 20:00 CET

so in... 10½ hours or something?

i dont understand all that PDT, PST and EST ect... it confuses me! one country. 1 timezone. stick with it people :p

A fellow dane who hates timezones just like me :D

Or you can just pirate it. I had the iOS 6 GM downloaded five hours after it was seeded to developers. I do that for all the releases even if Apple has officially released it because I like having the IPSW file available to me whenever I need it.

I do the same. I have the 4. something to 5.0.1. I didn't bother getting the 6.

IOS 6 release times in your local time.

Last year it came out at 6pm UK time, as you can imagine the servers were being hammered and the download time was an estimated 6 hours, I decided to not bother came back 3 hours later at 9pm and it downloaded in 2 minuets.
I'm going to try to update at least one of my devices at 6pm but if it's really slow I'll just stop and come back a few hours later.

This might be the wrong thread. But if you are running IOS 6 GM how do you download the actually one that comes out today? I am almost pos that when i try to download it later, it will say that i have the latest OS version. So will there be a link for everyone to download the one released today somewhere?

the GM and the one released today are the same, so there is no reason to update, if you really want today's version then connect to iTunes and backup then Restore and then Restore from Backup.

Does anyone know if it will be OTA?

If so I will do it at work. However thought OTA was onl for delta updates.

Yes but when i restore doesn't it check if i have the latest version? And wouldn't it say that i already have it? The reason i ask is cause i am selling my 4s and the person wants the actually copy that releases today installed.

There is no difference between the GM and the copy released today so there is no way they will know, no way they could tell the difference.
