If it did work, what should i choose as my other bolt-on out of these:

*unlimited o2-o2 calls
* unlimited texts
* unlimited weekend calls
* unlimited landline calls

Bearing in mind the simplicity sim offers 800mins and 1600 texts!

Whatever would be most useful to you mate, thats a personal use one, i'd go with unlimited txts even though 1600 is probably plenty for me as it is anyway but the others are of no use to me at all.

It really depends on what you use the most, but it sounds like you could be spending the rest of your life on the phone :D

O2-O2 calls it is then! :D

Even better
Assuming it works, choose unlimited o2-o2 calls for the bolt-on for simplicity. This is great for me as most of my family and my mates are with O2 anyway. I could downgrade from the £20 a month contract to the £15 one with 300mins which would be plenty for calling others at landlines and the few who arent with O2.

That could bring the iphone 3gs cost down to:
£440 for payg purchase handset
£ 180 for 12 month simplicity @ £15
total = £620

compared to £815 for 18 month contract @ £35 inc iphone price

This is a whole lot of assuming and i can't help but feel that its not going to work. I hope for you that it does though, and if it does i'll be doing the same except for the downgrading bit, i wouldn't do that as i need all my minutes.

lets hope anyway.
come back tommorow and it should be posted up.
im out for the night.

Thanks for the info ag55.

This may seem like a silly question but as I have never owned a mobile with internet before I'm not quite sure.

If I buy the iPhone on PAYG and top it up using the SIM they provided, can I get access to internet ANYWHERE? Or is it just limited to Wifi hotspots or whatever? And will I be able to use it around the house running off my wireless broadband?

buying the payg iphone will give you unlimited web and wifi.
so you'll be able to surf with 3g anywhere, and connect to wifi spots in your home and outside via the cloud/bt service for free.

front page has the update, im sorry to say it didnt work :(

Aha, i see :( Sucks.

Oh well, we're still getting a better deal then the people going on contracts. ;) and at least i don't have to order another new sim card!

I don't suppose you know what happens on Friday with regards to getting the damn phone, i made a thread about it as i heard rumours we're gonna be forced to top the PAYG simcard up instore which of course we don't want to do!

I doubt it'd be in store. Order it online and activate the sim for free, or you might need to top up something like £10 to activate.

Not 100% sure as im a first time iphone buyer, but if you do need to top it up i'd use the £10 quite quick, and get used to all the functions, and the unlimited web and wifi would be cool.

Then sign up for simplicity a week later.
