Buy an 8GB iPhone sans guilt. :p

Buy my mom a new wardrobe of her choosing (meaning, not furniture but clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.)

If I had anything left... I'd probably travel to NYC (never really been) and Boston (same, but I now have two cousins there, and I want to see this exhibit).

um. surely you mean clothes OR shoes OR accessories?
you're aware it says $10,000, not $100,000 right? i mean, who would attempt to buy a woman, a new wardrobe of clothes, with just $10,000?

well, unless of course, that woman (and i'm not in any way suggesting devilot's mother does) has a thing for dressing in empty potato sacks and refridgerator boxes! :D

A couple more tennis racquets, about 1,000 tennis balls, and a ball machine. :) And membership to the racquet club here which is like $500 a year.

Anything leftover... a Black Macbook and iPhone.

A Decked out mac pro, a 30 inch cinema display and a nice TV.

Whatever is left over, which probably isn't much, would go towards school.

First I would tithe and pay my taxes which would leave me with about $6,500. I would probably use that to pay down my mortgage or buy a CD.

Or else I might invest it until the new iMacs come out. That should give me plenty of time to take advantage of the benefits of compounded interest. :D

10,000$ :( 100,000 :)

since every one said 10,00 was so little how bout 100,000 but when u have won this much u cant just keep it all for your self..... so which charity would u donate to and how much would u give them

Why can't I keep it all to myself.

I would put this in ING and let it stew for the next year or so then use it as a deposit for a house with my long term girlfriend.

give some to my sister and brother and law, they have been struggling with my brother and law and my nephews cancer ordeals.

get a nice watch
get my wife and i some new living room furniture and bedroom furniture
give myself some pocket money
invest

1. 8GB iPhone
2. HD DVD Player
3. Stuff for my MBP (Exteral HD, RAM, Windows XP Full Version, Battery)
4. Invest
5. Save

I'd buy chips and mushy peas for you all :)

Mmmm... and a beer for you, too.

$100,000?

Well, I suppose the logical thing would be to dump it into my mortgage (upon which I'd probably open a home equity line of credit and perform the Smith Maneouvre).

What would I really do with $100K? Let's see...

Donate $10K to my church and to a local charitable organization (a summer camp that I volunteer with). The camp is in dire need of better archery equipment, so $2000 of that would go into buying a set of nice new bows and arrows.

Spend $10K on toys for me. A new MacBookPro, Apple display, an iMac for the kitchen, a large-screen LCD HDTV, an XBox 360. Some actual furniture for the house (which is currently sitting mostly empty).

Spend $15K on a car. Looking at a Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix. Nothing extravagant.

Buy $5000 of Apple stock, something which I've been saying I've wanted to do ever since I left high school in 1996 -- just think how rich I could be if I had actually done it... I could actually be spending this $100K, not just imagining it!

Put $5000 into a high-interest savings account (4% interest) which is not a huge savings vehicle but everyone recommends having a few months' living expenses in savings in case of emergency, and I currently do not.

Max out my RRSP/pension fund contributions for the year (probably about $10K) which will give me a nice tax refund to invest or spend next year.

The remaining money would be dumped into my mortgage which will take off years of payments and save me thousands in interest. Again, I would look into starting the Smith Manouevre. (This might only make sense to the Canadians among us.. ?)

I don't currently have friends or family who would be begging me for money (though I suppose that might start if I won this much money) but the savings on various things -- lower mortgage payments, no more car payments -- would allow me to be more generous in my every day lifestyle, so I'd buy lunch for my friends, buy them nicer gifts at Christmastime, stuff like that. If people needed emergency money for things, I'd be in a better position to help.

I would take half of it, fix anything wrong with my car(as long as the car is in pretty good condition), then pay bills. At the end of the year you have to pay taxes on it, I'd do that with the other half, then if there was any left put it in the bank for a rainy day.

Blow it all on a high-end hooker.

Nah... I'd probably get a few goodies for myself (including a PS3, a nice phone, a replacement F1 key for my MacBook), store some of it away as pocket money, and spend the rest on clothing.

Why not just get a macbook pro instead?
