question: when you say it won't boot, do you mean it won't turn on, or do you mean it turns on and you get the little flashing, question-mark thing?

nevermind...I just caught the bit about the logic board being fried. Ouch.

what you might do is just try to sell it "as is." I'd be willing to bet that there's someone out there who would buy the thing, buy a new logic board for it, and just fix it himself. A new logic board costs about $1000USD, which I guess would be about £600. If you price it right someone is bound to do the math and try to salvage the thing...I would guess...
 
I would recommend asking for mney and doing everything that you can to try and get it fixed. If all else fails, sell it. I would be interested anyway ifd you cant fix it cheaply or anything.
