Thats what a few people are posting they want. It’s not, IMHO, what most people want. Check other threads on product line refreshes. There are always posters with wishlists of ‘I want A, I want B, I want C….’. It may be good for them to have it but for many it’s not relevant (folders on Home Screen? Better widget control? Not relevant for me).
And Apple and Android are for profit corporations (see their quarterlies for Q1 to confirm that). Tangible market success is check box 1. Undoubtedly some nice product offerings never get to check box 2 because they fail the first check box test.

So if they don’t have dock than what should they use? A taskbar with a start menu?

Put all the apps of the home screen in app library?

Would the store have gone down by now, given that we're eight hours and ten minutes until the keynote? I'd imagine that this will dictate whether or not we see hardware announcements.
Does the store go down if there is nothing available to buy? That is, just announcements of future changes, downloads and software updates, etc.

They don't work with this forum, do they?
I have no idea, but that isn't really the point. Desktop Safari has had web notification support since v6.

If you want to judge all browser features by whether a single website has failed to implement them properly, you'll pretty soon have a list of browsers that you have to declare are all completely featureless.

Alerts from this forum work absolutely fine.

On Windows 10.

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that's because the forum software may have adopted the "Push" API and dropped support for the "Web Notifications" API.

For those playing at home, the Push API is currently considered to be "Initial definition" with a status of "Working Draft", and every aspect of the API is considered "Experimental".

MacOS isn’t doing that, unfortunately.

If this demo works for you, then Web Notifications are working. That doesn't really help much when the forum software adopts an experimental API, but let's at least be clear what we're talking about here.

While WWDC is definitely a developer focused event, the keynote address is a consumer event focused on software improvements. Apple always promotes the flashy, user facing features in the keynote. Developers and admins know that the real meat of the conference are the Platform State of the Union and the various sessions. That is where the real details come out.
I agree - my point was they don't focus on product releases as much as this event, at least not for a while by my recollection. I desperately want the new MBPs to be released though!

I will test it when I am at my Mac again. Thanks.

Apple will spend 2 hours on AR, which no one cares about.
Let me correct that for you. "Out of 2 hours, Apple will spend 1.75 hours on stuff that no adults cares about."

Timmy Cook will talk about Apple's Incredible, Best Ever, Stunning, Fantastic, Remarkable, Best Ever, Amazing new products that in reality are just small improvement from last year with bugs and glitches that no one wants to talk about.

Even if Apple announces new hardware, it is very unlikely that they will be avaliable for purchase today. At BEST, they would go on sale this Friday. More likely, anything new, like new MBPs, will go on sale in a few weeks.

You won’t see this at WWDC. Since this would be a feature on the iPhone 13, it won’t be announced until the hardware supports it. Apple will quietly develop it in private builds.
Oh, yeah, of course... haha... I was jumping ahead—just iOS, not new phones, at WWDC...

Any new hardware would likely be the MacBook pro 16 inch or the iMac 27 inch.

I can’t see a new MacBook Air as it not been out more than 200 days yet or the MacBook pro 13 inch.

I don’t care about widgets anywhere on iPad screen… I want an App Library for my iPad.
It does not make sense having widgets on the iPhone but not the iPad. It is not like it going to take apple months to program for it in iPadOS.

Apple could easy add that feature.

They just did. I’m happy for people that use widgets on iPad, but I personally don’t find it useful on iPad (somewhat useful on iPhone that said)

But I got App Library too yayy

Not sure what you’re on about.

I’m not talking about a single website. I’m talking about the missing functionality that causes websites like this and plenty of others to not work. It has nothing to do with the website itself.

And that definitely was the point because, well, it was my point that you decided to reply to. So I guess you missed my point.

There are two ways a website can send a notification to a user's browser.

One is the Web Notifications API, which is stable, and has been supported in Safari since v6. The forum software macrumors uses, used to use this API to provide notifications to users.

The other is the Push API, which is a draft standard, and considered experimental. I presume this is what the forum software uses now.

If a software developer or web developer decides to ship software that uses draft, experimental APIs, don't be surprised when not every client device is going to support it, or even support it in the same manner.

That makes sense. Thank you for the clarification.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't video playlists yhe job of the individual apps not the OS as such, why would this be a future in an OS update? I must be missing something here
No, It should be part of iOS just like it is in TVOS and OSX. You can do it with music and any audio; but not with video.
