But even if you didn't know that, when was the last time an unreleased Apple product was leaked by a retailer? Whether it was Best Buy or Walmart, much less B&H?

The answer is never.
I may be misremembering, but I believe during the G4 era either a retailer or AMD/Nvidia gave Apple a spoiler a few days before product launch.

I can't remember that one, but from recent history, retailers may accidentally ship an Apple embargoed product early to lucky customers. But they've never pre-empted Apple's own product announcement with a SKU listing based on real info.

I'm keeping my expectations low so I'll only be modestly disappointed. I would love to see Apple update those remaining Intel SKUs (e.g. Mac Pro, Mac Mini) that haven't been nuked outright (e.g. big iMac ⚰️). An update of the 'Air' has potential, but... well.. yeah. We will see.

Remember when Jeff Bezos started ‘presenting’ new Kindles and other Amazon stuff? That’s how boring Apple keynotes feel to me since Steve is gone. I wish Forstall hadn’t left (hadn’t been made to leave).

That's an interesting point however I don't think it will be beneficial. 2 years is a long time. Other companies like Microsoft, Google even Meta will take over. I'm all up for yearly upgrades as it keeps everything fresh and innovative. You don't want macOS or iOS running like an Android system. Also, we need new features. Overtime it gets boring.
What possible "new features" could we need in a desktop OS? I update my Mac OS about every 6 years, and there's never anything useful, just the look of the dock that keeps changing. Oh, and the new install reverts most of my logical settings back to Apple's non-intuitive defaults, such as what they call "natural" scrolling, which is anything but. Annual updates are useless.

Always-on display for iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max

I feel like this stupid idea of limiting this feature to iPhone 14 Pro/Max models could become true. Sadly… Even though every iPhone with an OLED display is more than capable of doing this
At this point, why even buy the regular iPhone 14? Same chip, no pillhole design, no AOD, but hey at least we have different colors this year.

Edit: Maybe I was over exaggerating but based on these rumors, its not worth it to upgrade to the 14 from the regular 13.

Cannot wait, just need a magical willy wonka ticket to appear. Unless I am the Vietnamese PM, who got in a week ago.

Revisiting the MacPro rumors
  • We do know that it is coming, though. Apple's Ternus confirmed as much during the Apple Peek Performance event, though he did not give a time frame for a release beyond "another day." Will that day be Monday, June 6, 2022?
  • There was this rumor from March on twitter about it using two M1 Ultra connected together

The CAD drawing in the posting on the right side shows what appears to be 2 M1 Ultras connected together

Lots of disappointment, lots of “maybe next year” posts in 10 hours.

iOS 16 sucks, there, I said it first.

Now Apple keynotes are acting rather than presenting.
I actually like the recorded format , feels like a more polished viewing experience , those developers going on stage and trying to showcase their games or whatever was always clunky and I never enjoyed it , sure Live has its upside such as audience and real reactions , but the pre recorded format has its upside too , no dead time in between segments , no waste of time with fillers , straight to the point , all the M1/M1Max reveals were fun to watch this way !

I hope that Apple allows iPad users to stop muting audio for other apps when a website wants to play it. Nothing more annoying that listening to my music and heading over to CNN.com having the song stop because of their stupid autoplay.

Also, here's hoping for a USB-C iPhone 14!

I hope it’s mainly Craig as the presenter he’s so charismatic I could listen to him read the telephone directory 😝

Tim , Phil and Craig , and please no Eddie cue or that Jeff Williams guy

iPadOS 16 needs to bring some magic, or my M1 Pro may be my last.
I was one of those who looked at the M1 coming to the iPad Pro with Thunderbolt and 8GBs RAM and was convinced iPadOS 15 would blow my mind. Alas, I was so wrong I self-banished myself from the site.

I’ve been wanting to go all tablet, all the time for a while now. I’m hoping I was just off by one year.

Me too ... I went 12.9 M1 with 16GB/1TB and am hoping the power is realised with this release. If it doesn't happen with 16, I doubt it ever will.

A skeptical mind is a healthy mind, but Apple always delivers for those of us who love being part of this family of products and services.

The opening line in this article says its digital only?
Looking at the wording on the invitation, it‘s not entirely clear if the limited in-person audience will be watching a recorded presentation or a live presentation that has videos interspersed throughout (as usual):

We’re hosting a special all-day experience at Apple Park on June 6 to kick off WWDC22. Gather with others in the developer community to watch the keynote and Platforms State of the Union videos alongside Apple engineers and experts, explore the all-new Developer Center, and so much more. We can’t wait to connect in person.
