Very strange they haven't offered the M1 Pro in a desktop.
Yes, there's a hole there...

But the previous rumours of the M2, with faster single core CPU/GPU performance, maybe an extra GPU core, potentially even 32GB RAM capability, could easily leave the regular M2 out-performing the M1 Pro - especially the base, 8-core "binned" version. Even the now rumored "M1-and-a-half" could give the entry-level M1 Pro a run for its money. So, even if M2 isn't coming this week, it may be a bit late in the day to launch a new M1 Pro machine, until the "M2 Pro" is available.

Mark Gurman is now saying there won't be any new MacBook Air launched at WWDC '22. Just as I had rightly predicted. There just isn't any need for one considering it would be a cosmetic upgrade anyway. Its not like what's already out there isn't good enough already.

I believe Apple is gonna bring M SoC to the iPhone Pro’s it’s just inevitable if they want to create some substantial differentiation from the standard (cheaper) models.

Why, the M1 pro is only 8 months old? It’s been bugging a lot of us why no products besides 14/16 MBP uses it.

As mentioned on the screen shot above, there appears that B&H Photo, an Apple Authorized Dealer leaked 2 screen shots for both a M2 Mac Mini and a Mac Mini Tower M1P today. Here is a video link that I also sent to Macrumors earlier so they can evaluate this leaked specs sales page from B&H Photo (at 21 second mark):

I bet there is a B&H Photo employee just laughing his head off about this. As one person said why a M1 Pro mini tower with 8 GB RAM.

What am I most looking forward to? Safari 16 with better UI customisation and, most of all, better TABS!

If there was one, wouldn’t that be like the fist thing that hasn’t leaked in virtually last 10 years?

Imagine if iPad Pro with M2 releases along with redesigned M2 MacBook Air. Even less people would go for iPad… I hope we’ll see a major iPadOS revamp before they sell M2 iPad Pro. Maybe they’ll save some great reveal for that moment? But we had the same wishful thinking with M1 iPad Pro, and here we are, almost a year later…
There has been iPad Pro rumours, just not very recently. I personally do not want a MacBook. Tomorrow they solve the external monitor issue with iPadOS so people can buy an M2 iPad 😎

Fun to look back at last years WWDC 2021 thread that was just like this WWDC 2022 thread.

"As little as we know about iOS 15, we know even less about macOS 12, the next-generation version of the Mac's operating system. We do expect it to be labeled macOS 12, however. For a long time, macOS updates were labeled as 10.x, but with the launch of macOS Big Sur, Apple jumped to macOS 11. We've already had 11.x software updates, so the next-generation version of macOS will be macOS 12."

versus

"We don't know much about the feature set coming to macOS 13, as there have been few leaks. It is rumored to feature an overhauled System Preferences interface that will bring it more in line with the Settings app on iPhone and iPad, with the update to include individual settings organized by app."

Good thing its only 19 hours to go, as the rumor mill has been abated by Apple security perfectly. :D

I wish they would move to a new OS every 2 years and spend more time refining and fixing bugs. That would suit me fine.
ya know, I'm leaning in that direction too, the more I think it over. Improve what needs improvement, and if (horror of horrors) things are looking good (the majority is happy), introduce a new feature or two in an upgrade of the same OS. It's seeming that the iOS has peaked in what it can do. Now is the time to look into how well can those things be done...

One could hope that iOS 16/iPadOS 16 and MacOS 13 finally links Siri database lookup to be able to answer a question rather than point to a irrelevant web link wholly unrelated to what you were inquiring about. Siri is now more then a decade old and it shows

All we want to do is talk to it to ask questions, not have to think how to talk to it.

That's one of my main complaints after having used Mac OS for 12 years. People get excite every year trying to guess what name Apple is going to give to the new OS, and what new features they will include. Once the new OS is out, every single Mac that is sold will come with it, but the buyer doesn't have the option to downgrade it, so the early adopters have to patiently wait for developers to release compatible versions of their software (programs, applications, and plugins). Every new Mac OS release represents a step closer to the day when your Mac will become vintage, and will be abandoned by Apple and other developers, to focus on the new hardware.
