I'd like to able to use the pencil 3 like a magic wand and point at other apple products and control them.

My previous two apple pencils are ORNAMENTS, I won't be adding a third to the collection.

The Apple Pencil's the most underused Apple product I own. I occasionally whip it off the top of my iPad just to scroll through a few screens, but basically I hardly ever use it. It's pretty pointless........
Not to artists. For artists it's a must have. Also for serious note takers. Clearly you are neither. And that's fine. But the Apple Pencil is definitely not pointless to others. ✏️ 👍

Honestly, since I never use Apple Pencil for my iPad, the update does not mean anything. However, it will benefit for those who use it extensively. For these pencils users, enjoy the update and be happy 😊

I just want them to make the pencil work properly in Keynote via Mark up. Constantly touching the controls or the next page button is really annoying.

I just want a markup feature in files that doesn't make file sizes explode. Does anyone know if that's fixed now.

You can also use the AppleTV remote and I’d be surprised if there weren’t 3rd party clickers you can use to control Keynote playback.

I loved iPod Socks as much as the next guy, but a Pencil-only announcement would be up there amongst the greats; right alongside Apple Rechargeable Batteries.

this more looks like an Android gadget...

I would like a power switch.
While this makes great sense for this device Apple has a poor track record for adding power switches on certain products.

Studio Monitor, AirPods/Airpods Max, Pencil, iPod (and I suppose you can count HomePod even though it doesn’t need one) are examples.

Even the iPhone needs a combination of two buttons to power off but this was just them adding ability the existing button after removing another. Now that I think of it they’ve always called it Sleep/Wake instead of Power.

They seem to dislike some devices actually turning off. My guess is customer experience: Pick it up and go, no waiting.

Unfortunately, that's not my issue. Mark Up (if that's what it is still called) on Keynote is where you make destructible written marks or notes on a Keynote being presented using the Apple Pencil. It has to be done on the iPad. It's the little curly line in the top right. You don't need to push that button though, just touch the screen with the Apple Pencil and it will go into Mark Up mode.
