Just setting myself for no Apple TV device (or whatever it ends being called) so don't mind me.

The Apple TV is fine, but I just can't be bothered to buy another external streaming box. My Roku TV does just fine and the kids and wife like the interface.

They would need more than what is currently offered to convince me to buy something additional to my TV's built in options... plus it's easy to move to a different input on the TV (Switch, specifically). You need two remotes when using Apple TV as it can't switch the TV's inputs.

The Vision Pro is spectacular as it is, so it’s hard to imagine what a next gen product looks like outside of a hardware redesign (lighter weight, smaller form factor, etc). It would have been nice if Apple added WiFi 7 though, seems strange to leave it out when iPhone and iPad have it. It’s literally the one product that would benefit from the higher throughput the most given the dual almost 4K displays.

As a prior Vision Pro owner, I can confirm M5 would be huge since it has dramatically faster single-thread performance. The name of the game is latency and that would be a huge step-up.

Will probably be a mid cycle refresh to sell off remaining components. I was extremely bullish on the product and got mine at launch. It's a lot of fun, but overshadowed in the age of AI. The form factor will need to remain intact for cinephiles and pros, but I'm thinking a tethered experience is optimal for that.

That is why I want an actual Apple TV. I hate that I have to use two remotes and have an extra box and cords. Also there is a delay when turning on the TV with the Apple remote on my TV. That is not the case when turning the TV on with the original remote. I also hate that I have to long press on the Apple remote to turn off the TV.

I just turn on my Switch or PlayStation, and the TV switches to that HDMI input due to HDMI-CEC being enabled.

The interface on the Roku is fine, but it’s not really comparable to Apple TV’s.

The kids and wife prefer it to the Apple TV, so... Also, we do watch broadcast via antenna somewhat often.. no option there. OTA, and Switch, just appear as regular channels on Roku with a built-in guide.

Anyway, just the way it works in our household. I would like Apple to offer something a little more comprehensive than just a box.

I only care about M5 benchmarks to be able to forecast M5 Extreme capabilities (Mac Pro)
and M6 Max capabilities (All-new MacBook Pro tandem OLED late 2026)

Really wish they just pushed the AppleTV with the iPhone updates, have been waiting for a new 4K for months now to upgrade from my 1080p one 🫠

Apple TV and tvOS are good, but Apple TV isn't good enough to pay an extra €129+ just to have another box lying around that can do the same things as my TV. I like my Apple TV, but I wouldn't buy another one. My TV was good enough to open streaming apps.

Just tried to order entry 11"-inch iPad Pro and in Florida, I can have it delivered tomorrow from Apple.

Can confirm same. base 11" IPP can be delivered today/tomorrow. 13" pushed out to next week.

Very interesting. [Unless no one buys the 11" and everyone goes for the 13"]
