Looks like a Wednesday update, then. The new "Apple TV" (or TVPod or whatever it ends up being called) is what I'm most interested in, but I also think it's the product we're least likely to see.

This might finally be the year I get a new iPad, though. I haven't own an iPad since before COVID...

Hopefully. if not tomorrow, then next week.

I need a new iPad, mine is broken, old and slow. I use it a lot and I am ready for the announcement. My hope is the leaks are wrong and there are actual changes to the body of the iPad, even changing the orientation alone will do it for me.

It will probably be announced next Tuesday.
Here in the Netherlands, you get free AirPods as part of the education savings promotion, which runs until the 21st (next Tuesday). I don’t recall Apple ever overlapping that promotion with a new product launch, so it’s likely we’ll see new hardware announced on or after the 21st.
The AirPods Pro 3 came out in the US during our back to school promotion.

I still have the original big ipad pro which i use to just watch my home security cameras from my desk lol. i practically "dont have an ipad" because this thing is on my desk, plugged in, and hasnt moved in years from this sole purpose i use it for hah.

Really hoping the AppleTV announcement isn't delayed. I'm ready to dump GoogleTV after they've repeatedly made the interface slower and less usable... Besides, I'd like to be able to mirror my MBP and iPhone.
We just completed a renovation of an old barn into a mother-in-law suite behind our house. Our bedroom ATV moved out there a month ago as we're awaiting a new ATV. The day it is available, I'm ordering. The new box will replace Beth living room box - which will move to the bedroom, thus completing the great ATV shuffle of 2025*.

*Because I happen to fall into the ready–for-an-ATV-update-today category, that almost guarantees there won't be an updated ATV until a Home-centric announcement next spring (when 26.4 is ready).

Haha, we're about to do the same thing. The Main Bedroom is awaiting its Apple TV (Device) thus completing our full compliment of Apple TV (Device)'s in the house.

With a new Apple TV I would be motivated to exercise more. ;)
The Fire TV Stick in front of the cross trainer frustrates me and kills my motivation to work out.
I would llike to connect my Apple TV 4K there and use the new model in the living room.

The only physical change will be a second front camera.

Me too. Actually I was waiting for the iPad Pro M5 (which I don't need) because I lost hope of seeing the 120hz on iPad Air, but maybe after iPhone 17 the iPad Air could also have ProMotion.

I have m1 iPad Pro that is showing its age. Don't need all the pro stuff but would like the 120 hz screen.

Who's gonna tell him. 🫣

I always welcome other opinions, but arrogance is not a good guide. The nature of the M5 with its GPU neural engines that engance AI and CGI performance and the new architecture that allows users to configure the SoC to their needs, is what Apple needs for the new Mac Pro.

Last year they did the press releases the week us the earning call. They most likely do the same this year. So probably the last week of October.

I swear every report seems to expand the death of the next vision head set. A report said that apple moved employees from one of the projects to another with a huge amount of overlap. Then it was the assumption that moving employees ment moving all employees. Then there was the assumption that the projects were wholly paused. And I think some have said canceled.

The glasses and the head sets have a lot of overlap. It makes sense to move people whose were is in or near to the overlap to the project that needs the acceleration. They will understand both products and make things that are useful for both. Without knowing apple, I assume there are people working on things that it doesn't make sense to move over, that didn't and there are I am sure people working on common components that didn't get retasked. I don't think the m-series chip people got moved from that to A-series for this.

Which is all to say I think that it's not getting work done. It's just potentially less work.
