Maybe the M processors are not powerful enough for 120 or 240 Hz. Maybe apple needs to switch back to Intel.
Maybe the upcoming Studio Display will run at 120 Hz only if your Mac contains an M4 Ultra chip.Maybe the M processors are not powerful enough for 120 or 240 Hz. Maybe apple needs to switch back to Intel.
There’s only 2 models “available” of the 27” 4k qb-oled and both over $1100. Those 2 models are unavailable for purchase for the most part as the ASUS is backordered and the MSI is MIA if you’re shopping in the USA.4K at 27 inches is not the same as 5K at 27 inches though. There are multiple 5K screens out now, some decent ones at $800. The ASD I use looks significantly better than the 4k Dell U2723qe that I used to have, especially if you stare at text all day.
But I generally agree, the ASD is not worth $1600 currently, but that was your only option for a long time. I still think it is the "best" option if you can stomach the cost. The current model should probably be reduced to $999 or $1200 (at least), especially when you consider the 32" 6K display from ASUS that is likely going to be in the $1200 - 1500 range.
Pretty trashy u have to chose height adjustable stand and can’t make any changes after purchase. Yes I paid extra for the ability to change the height 4” yes I feel bent over but by a silver fox like Tim so it’s okay it’s only 4 inches ya know.
The current Studio Display stands far too high. Worse, the so-called height adjustable version only goes up -- it doesn't reduce the height at all. What a stupid design. Please make a properly height adjustable monitor ... not one that only goes up.
Apple implementation of display height adjustment the results in changing the viewing distance is just a plain poor design decision. Especially with a multi display desktop configuration. And the fact that Apple charges more for height adjustment displays just makes their poor design implementation even worse. It’s a bit discriminatory. Long bodied people have to pay more for an ergonomically suitable Apple display.
Hence I never can buy one.

It needs to be a 32-inch display. Otherwise, why bother. You can get great displays from company's like Samsung (like I am using now.) I have two 32-inch Samsung's for less than the price of the Apple monitor.
Historically this has never been an option on any Apple monitor. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. They need to add a second input to make it competitive with similar displays on the market.

The Studio Display didn't make sense at launch, and especially doesn't make sense now when there's 27" 4K 240hz QD-OLEDs for $900.
Hoping the new version has the Tandem OLED tech from the iPad Pro, but that seems unlikely based on rumors.
I want to get a large display too. Ive been working with graphics on a 16" mbpro for 3years now, you can wait bro, if i can do it, you can do it too.I cant wait that long - looks like I'm going with the current model.
I was just at one of the largest consumer electronics chains here in Sweden. The salesman said that there is not a single store which has one in stock and that they are unable to procure more.
Maybe a sign that Apple is about to release a new one?
