well not that unusual, i got my father vostro 3450, that comes without a dgpu and the same cpu that comes with my mac, and I got the same results, to keep turbo boost active, it was using the battery

Are you sure its not simply because of heat issue? At higher temperatures batteries hold less charge. Subjecting a battery to very high temperatures for extended amounts of time will cause the energy stored in the battery to dissipate.

nope, the cooling system on that vostro was designed to take a dgpu in there
 
I'm really curious why they aren't offering GT3 for desktop cpu's. Seems like it would be great for HTPC's.

But do you really think Apple will allow us 32GB Ram in the rMBP? 16 right now is 200$.

If anything the cMBP will unofficially support it.
 
The thought process is that bc dektops almost invariably have dGPUs,they do not need really good iGPUs (really good is relative to GT2).
