Maybe they should focus on the SE as the budget option rather than keeping older iPhones on sale.

I am expecting disappointment.
If Apple were to launch the iDisappoint, it would likely come in four models:

iDisappoint Mini – For those who hoped for innovation but got a recycled design.

iDisappoint SE – Same disappointment as before, but at a slightly lower price.

iDisappoint Pro – Now with a premium price tag and an adapter you didn’t ask for.

iDisappoint Ultra – The most advanced disappointment yet, featuring exclusive “Pro Grumble™” technology.

And of course, all models would be available in the exciting new color: “Space Letdown.”

It's from ChatGPT of course, misused as any good boomer would do it, sorry I couldn't help it

It's for a new product line, likely related to smart home technology with AI. It seems to be a competitor to Alexa but with a screen—something like HomeHub.

Guys, I don't think it's a new product.

It's probably just the SE, but with a new name. Family of iPhones. Or as somebody mentioned before: the new Apple 5G chip (inside the SE).

16E makes more marketing sense than the SE 4 based on rumored specs. But with the expected price gap, I would not be shocked if Apple went to $599 for the 16E and stopped selling both 14 and 15 at the same time.

Then you have Good, Better, Best Apple loves to do:

$599 16E
$799 16
$999 16 Pro

EDIT: Adding that when the 17 launches in the fall, that is the perfect time to drop the 16E price to $499 as it will have 'old' hardware compared to the new models. This would also allow Apple to offer AI on all sold phones. This makes perfect sense IMO.
