Does Amazon runs ads in shows like Hulu?

I can't figure out why anyone would choose Hulu over Netflix, given that Hulu runs ads. Now that I've experienced TV without ads, I find ads to be completely unacceptable. They spoil the trance state that seems to be the heart of the TV experience. :)

As example, I likely would have never watched Grey's Anatomy on regular cable. When the ads come on I'd change the channel and miss half the show, and it wouldn't have a chance to hook me. But if I can watch an episode without interruption, I'm hooked. (And I hate hospital shows!)

Should I be offended now ? there really is a really great story in this show.
I really grow fond of this show

Hmmm... I admit that I never got into ER or Grey's Anatomy like the way I have enjoyed House which is my favorite hospital show. And honestly they get very repitious(sp?) after awhile.

I really look for cinematography and innovative in character development and presentation. For example, 24 was brilliant in terms of having a real time storyline which was engaging. Another example is Homeland which has a lovely opening sequence/montage that combines the political and the personal. Breaking Bad (which I consider probably the best TV show I ever seen) has brilliant use of surrealism and poetic imagery that most shows can't touch at all.

Grey's Anatomy, of the few episodes, just plainly bores me to death. I never got into any of the characters and it seems like a soap opera to me. Plus its political correctness was interesting but that didn't help the plot or characterization.

For me, a good television show has to reflect good concepts in cinema and about 80% of the TV out there doesn't do that for me.

Well, as I have been watching it since the beginning, it's like I am a member of the Grey/Shepherd family. After 9 years, you don't watch it for the cinematography anymore. But just for the story. That explains me watching that show. Besides Grey's, I'm watching 54 other shows closely, so you can say I'm addicted to series.

Here a list. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398798970.220575.jpg

Thinking it's time to replay a season of The Wire. Maybe the one with the episode where Snoop is in the equivalent of a Home Depot and buying a replacement for her nail gun. I think of that episode every time I go into an HD or a Lowes and get waited on by some very polite, well-informed and well-meaning employee. That guy was cast perfectly.

Actually though, I think my favorite season of The Wire is the one about corruption on the docks.

I really want to see The Wire so badly.

I just started House of Cards this weekend. I had actually watched the first episode before (or part of it anyway) but dozed off midstream. Watched the first 5 episodes this weekend and I must say it's pretty good.

As for current series, I'm watching:

Chicago PD and Chicago Fire (both AWESOME, BTW)
Believe - giving it a try though I may not last much longer
Crisis (maybe another short-termer)
Blue Bloods (REALLY wish I could find the first few seasons to stream since I only started recently, might be worth a Hulu sub if it's there)
CSI
Criminal Minds
Covert Affairs on USA (Need a Piper Perabo fix, hope it comes back)

Not following too many sit-coms, other than the long-running ones that are continuing they've been pretty lackluster.

I may start in on Veep as I have HBO, and I think there was one more on there that I wanted to watch.

Veep… That sounds up my alley. I am adding that one to my list.

No, there aren't any ads on Amazon.

I'm watching (in no particular order)

The Walking Dead
Continuum
24
Revolution
Falling Skies
Downton Abbey
Deadliest Catch
Life Below Zero
Alaska State Troopers
The Blacklist

I crossed House of Cards off my list. I finished season 1, and it was good, but I just don't have the desire to keep watching it honestly.

There really isn't much I like on TV anymore. I only watch Gold rush, ice road truckers, mythbusters, pawn stars, American restoration, and dual survival.

Thx ucfgrad93, forgot about Blacklist and Deadliest Catch. I also watch IRT (is it on this year) and catch various shows on Smithsonian.
