I recently switched to Red Pocket Mobile (a prepaid MVNO):
  • AT&T network
  • Unlimited talk & text
  • 5GB per month (then unlimited 2g)
  • $204 for 1-year (average $17/mo)
Normal price for the 1-year plan is $240, but I waited for when eBay was having a site-wide 15% off coupon to purchase it.

So far no issues whatsoever :)

Before Red Pocket I had AT&T prepaid ($40/mo for unlimited talk/text/8GB) and the coverage / signal strength / speed between the two has been exactly the same for me.

The porting process was also super simple via the web and their customer service via chats have so far (*knocks on wood*) been both quick & knowledgable.

I chose the eBay 1-year $240 plan which allows you to chose between two different networks (Sprint and AT&T) when you first activate your account. I chose this one because it seemed to have the best value of low price + good amount of data.

The only thing I wish they had on this plan was both WiFi calling and VOLTE (AT&T prepaid just barely got these unofficially). But hey for an average of just $17/mo, after coupon, I cant really complain too much ;)

P.S. if eBay has a site-wide coupon sale come up and you'd like to take advantage of it but aren't ready to switch right away from your current provider, you dont have to. When you first buy the plan on eBay Red Pocket will send you a activation code that is good for 1-year from the date of purchase.

I'm with T-Mobile 10GB plan. $53/mo. The city I live the signal strength kind of sucks. But it's a small rural town. But I work in a larger city so the coverage and signal out there where I really need it the most has been excellent. And when I visit other larger cities. Basically Tmob sucks in small towns. But the price is good and for the most part Tmobs been fine for me.

Verizon $530 a month. Beyond Unlimited Plan on all devices. And the monthly payment plan on all devices. 3 iPhone XR’s, 1 IPhone 8Plus, 3 IPad Pros, and 2 Series 4 Watches, and insurance on everything. What’s sad is my car payments are less then my cell bill.

I'm currently on AT&T. I was recently considering switching to VZW for their Apple Music promotion. I was massively disappointed in VZW webpages. It was incredibly difficult to find a service price (2 phones and iPad data plan.) I also felt "suckered" when I saw the Apple Music promotion is only for 6 months. As most of you know, Apple will give you three months to try it.

I'm currently with T-Mobile on their ONE Plan.

I currently pay $56/month for their ONE Plan with my 20% hookup discount.

I have my 11" IPP and iPad data plan on there as well (additional $30 for device and $20 data)

In total, I pay T-Mobile $106/month.

Oof. I won't complain then, at $249 a month. T-Mobile ONE Military plan. Unlimited talk/text/data, Netflix and mobile hotspot data included. Device payment plans (some have promo discounts) on an iPhone XS, XR, 8, 7 and an iPad. 2GB data plan on the iPad, I mostly use it on wifi. I'll probably add a Series 4 Watch next year, as my Series 3 (non-cellular) is still going strong.

T-Mobile Simple One plan for $70 a month, total, including taxes and fees. Six or seven years ago, I have to admit that T-Mobile coverage wasn't that good. If my girlfriend and I drove the back roads in Napa Valley or some other location away from larger cities, I'd often have problems while she, who used Verizon, didn't.

But T-Mobile has been improving year by year, and right now I seldom have trouble with coverage and seldom have to rely on Wi-Fi in buildings or sports arenas.

One thing that's always been great is free data and cheap phone calls in most foreign countries. My girlfriend and I travel a lot, and the first time we went to Germany I could use my phone everywhere and she had to wait to get on Wi-Fil because she didn't want to pay Verizon for international data. She was so jealous.

So when we went to Egypt I put her on my plan for a month just so she could test it out. She loved it, and when we got back she switched from Version to T-Mobile. Since then we've been to Caribbean islands, South America, etc., and have had free data everywhere except Cuba.

Tethering (hotspot) doesn't work with iOS on Red Pocket's AT&T network. This page has more info. Sad, 'cause this is something I need on the road when a hotel's wifi is DOA or unbearably slow. Otherwise I'd hop onto their annual plan in a heartbeat. I'd save a fortune over what I'm paying AT&T every month ($88) for my iphone and Connected Car on a 6GB shared data plan.

Verizon Wireless
5 lines (February unlimited plan) - The new Verizon Plan Unlimited
1x iPhone X
2x iPhone 8+
1x iPhone Xr
1x iPhone 7

About $382 a month after $10 auto pay and paper-free discount with all local taxes and fees. We do not have any insurance or any extra services from Verizon, just 5 phones.

AT&T.

1 line Unlimited Plus- $90
- World Connect Advantage for international calling - $15
1 Apple Watch line- $10

With taxes and fees, comes out to about $120 a month.

I used to buy my phones outright, but I’ve been on the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program since it launched since I get a new phone every year and don’t want to deal with the hassle of resale.

I’d switch carriers if there was a better situation, but Verizon isn’t cheaper for my needs, T-Mobile’s is cheaper but the coverage is weaker and Sprint is a meme.

You really can't beat free international roaming for data. I need to step my travel game up, lol!

I currently have T-Mobile Simple Choice North America Unlimited Plan first 4 lines are $150 + 5th line $30 + Apple Watch Cellular $10 - my %15 month corporate discount. So $161.50 before taxes + plus device payments etc...

Have been with T-Mobile going on 5 years now, and have loved every second of it. Highly recommended!!!

Good point. Though I can’t remember the last time I needed to tether, it appears to be included/permissible on VZW’s network.

Right now, I think the best plan for the wife and myself is Red Pocket’s family plan. We would each get 3GB at native Verizon LTE speeds with VOLTE & visual voicemail both enabled, for $50/mo. plus tax.

The only feature not enabled is WiFi calling, but I have that disabled anyway. Also, unlike others, Red Pocket doesn’t charge extra for the SIM cards.

Am I missing anything?

I will also add that coverage has never been an issue with T-Mobile in my area, however building penetration was a few years ago. Since then idk if it's the spectrum they've been buying or simply LTE services over 4g, but building penetration is pretty good now (concrete buildings, elevators, garages, etc), seems much better the last few years.

I have Google Fi and pay about $27 a month. Used to have Tmo but since I switched to Google Fi I use wifi as much as possible to keep the data cost low.

I’m considering switching to Red Pocket. Any issues or regrets?

Just a heads up, I've been using a Galaxy S10e on Red Pocket (AT&T network) for awhile now with no issues, but last night I said "What the hell? Why not?" and switched the SIM card to my iPhone SE for a work shift...

Holy moly! While Red Pocket service has been awesome on my Galaxy phone, it was GOD AWFUL on my iPhone SE :(

I dunno what's up with the profile Red Pocket has for iPhones via the AT&T network, but the reception and ability to get LTE service was virtually non-existent for me. I'd have periods of 10 minutes or more when my iPhone SE would say "No Service" before finally locking onto a HSPA+ (no LTE) signal.

I tried putting my phone on airplane mode and taking it off to reset the signal. Or even restarting my device. Hell, I even tried a "Erase All Content And Settings" and set my SE up from scratch + redownload the profile via text from Red Pocket but it made no difference.

In addition to the cell signal being crap, I also found out that on the AT&T network (or GSMA), Red Pocket blocks FaceTime over cellular data! Grrrr

As well as FaceTime over cellular being blocked when on GSMA, they also block any hotspot / tethering on iPhones (Android phones are ok tho).

So yeah, just wanted to give a warning since I endorsed them earlier: Red Pocket via AT&T network on an iPhone is a terrible experience. Dont do it! Android phones are great though.

I went with Mint Mobile (a prepaid MVNO using the T-Mobile network).

If you pre-pay for a year you get

$15 + taxes / month: Unlimited voice and text and 3 Gig high speed data (then unlimited 2 g)
$20 + taxes / month: Unlimited voice and text and 8 Gig high speed data (then unlimited 2 g)

I use an iPhone SE and no complaints so far.

T-Mobile

4 one plus promo lines with kickback
- 1 line has the ‘this ones on us’ promo
- Typically get kickback on 2 lines monthly

2 Apple watch lines
- Buy 1 line get 1 line free promo

Netflix on us promo

20% off monthly bill hookup promo

Total bill per month: $106 (taxes included) with kickback on 2 lines. The most I’d pay per month if those 2 lines didn’t get kickback (use more than 2gb of data which very rarely happens) is $122.
