Retina. I love sharp images using pinch to zoom on iPhone 4/4s and have always felt this was a detracting factor on iPads.

Retina
Fast GPU
Longer Battery
new iOS with dual app support (watch video on left side, while browsing on right. Open notepad to copy info off webpage. etc. etc.)

3 out of 4 is pretty good.

Absolutely the display improvement. I can't wait to see how it looks.
It would of been a nice Brucey Bonus if it was a bit faster and maybe a tactile display is pie in the sky but that would have knocked my socks off. Next year maybe?

The "main" feature? It would have to be the retina display.

I love the upgraded RAM, since the only time I would call my iPad sluggish is when I've been doing RAM intensive tasks.

Next year I hope for 128GB and MagSafe for faster charging.

I've wanted pressure sensitive drawing since they introduced the iPad. I actually said I didn't want one until it had this but the third gen convinced me for other reasons. Something Apple-native would obviously be best especially with these crappy, only works on 3 apps, wonky, roundabout, can't use API so they're emitting high-pitched frequencies ridiculous styli coming out now like the Jaja. These give me hope that something will come out soon that's workable. Currently the only decent on-screen pressure-sensitive drawing can be done on a wacom cintiq that I know of and this is a wickedly expensive solution. Artists would jump onboard in droves if this got added. Someone needs to figure this out and I hope it's a little company called Apple.

I just wanted Retina. I have been waiting for the retina display on the iPad since it was announced with the iPhone 4. The day is FINALLY here!

retina display by far. would have also liked a better front-facing camera, but not complaining we didn't get it

When the first ipad was announced I owned a blackberry bold for work and an ipod touch, the touch at the was my favorite gadget ever. When the ipad was first announced my reaction was similar to many I remember reading at that time" it's just a big ipod touch "....Well I bought my mom an ipad summer 2010 and instantly loved it, but it was still just a bigger ipod touch to me. I was able to switch my work phone to the iphone 4 the summer of 2010, and let's just say retina display changed everything for me, and the ipad started to evolve into something I really wanted....So my long winded reply here as I had my fingers crossed the ipad 2 would feature it.....is RETINA display...and this friday, after two patient years I will finally have my "big ipod touch"...Can't wait!

Great hardware and I'm getting the iPad 3rd Generation. The biggest feature I wanted is the ability to run Android 4.0 ICS. If it had that, it would be perfect.

Damn good idea. Have two apps side by side running at 1024 x 768 in landscape mode.

* a file app like Photos for documents etc that all other apps can access
* HD front facing camera
* some new technology thingo (ie that haptic feedback stuff)
* new layout
* etc

but i bought it anyway :p retina display. woohoo!
