The first Mac that was 100% mine was a Power Mac G4/500DP. It was my primary Mac from around 2004 when I bought it off a friend that upgraded to a G5 until it was replaced with a 2009 Mac mini. I still have that machine as a PowerPC playhouse. I still have that mini in daily use 16 years later too!

My first Mac was the first gen 20" iMac G5 purchased in October of 2005.

I had been anti-mac up to that point after having a bad experience with an early version of Mac OS X and Adobe Illustrator - I hated that the window panels were just floating around with the desktop wallpaper being visible behind it.

I had graduated college in Sept 2005 and it seemed like all the design jobs near me were Mac based. So I started looking into what options were available and when I watched the iMac G5 launch video, I knew that was the Mac I wanted to buy.

Since then, I have owned several different Macs and almost all the iPhones models that have launched.

Crazy to think it has been 20 years since I made the switch to Mac.

Mine was a 24” 2008 iMac.

Top spec, at the time.

Such a lovely, lovely machine. It was actually this Mac that got me into photography.

What about you?
got an original Mac 128k with Mac Write&Macpaint in 1985 and stayed up all night playing with it and then had to go to work lol, but couldn't wait to get back home to it.

My first Mac was a MacBook Pro 14" with the M2 Pro chip, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD. Three weeks after I received it, Apple announced and released the M3 versions. I called Apple to see if I could do a return and they accepted. Then I ordered a MacBook Pro 14" with the M3 Pro chip, 18 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD for the same price.
