I try many, but I seem to default to the Modular Compact face.

I need battery, date, time, and schedule.

I know other faces can display this, but on the 41mm watch, the corner complications can be quite small. Thus, I prefer Modular Compact.

What about you? Is there a watch face that you tend to use most?

Wishing you all well.

I have 4 faces that automatically change based on the time of day. There are complications that I find more helpful at that 3:00 am fridge run, versus waking up, versus heading to work, versus evenings. All of them are Infograph versions.

About 50/50 between Modular and Wayfinder. [Edit to add a comment: At night I always go to Wayfinder and turn the crown to change it to all red.]

Almost all the time, I have my Ultra on Wayfinder.

Most of the time it’s not on Wayfinder, it’s during sleep focus when I have it on numerals duo with a red color … waaaay easier to read at oh-dark-thirty than any analog face.

And, during waking hours, when it’s not on Wayfinder, it’s probably on Contour triggered by a focus that has almost every alert, etc., silenced. I’ll also use Contour when I want something a little more formal-ish.

I have all the astronomy faces installed and a few others that I’ll sometimes scroll to and use as if they were an app — but then I go right back to Wayfinder when I’m done.

Incidentally, I never would have thought I’d be interested in something as complicated as Wayfinder. That I now can’t live without it is a testament to how well Apple designed this one.

Typograph is my favorite as it looks clean & minimal and modular at night for quick access to “up next”, music app, home control, etc.

Meridian outside of work with the four central complications set to messages, steps via Pedometer++, activity and calendar then during work hours its modular with complications set to messages top left, steps, activity and Outlook Mail across the bottom and the main central one set to my work Outlook calendar. I've got an automation set via shortcuts that automatically changes the watch face based on the time i start and finish work.

I also have Nike Hybrid and Typograph faces that i sometimes switch to for a change, Typograph is one i use if i'm out to look a bit more like a normal watch.

Infograph Modular, but it will never not irritate me that I can't have a large digital time in the center instead of a giant complication.

I like the Nike watchface on my Apple watch 6 Nike edition. I’ve switch it up every now & then, but that’s the one I always come back to.

How do you get them to change automatically?

In Shortcuts on your iP, Personal automations. Run by location of your iP, time, etc. It's sometimes a little buggy, but 99% of the time it works. I also use it to automatically log my time that I spend at work.

Will add run by Focuses turning on or off, be it location, time, or manually triggered. My automatic face changes are primarily Focus triggered with a couple of time based Automations.

And re: the original question: California and Typograph (don't want/need lots of info on the face). Modular when working out.
