I really just seems odd to me that people would get iPhones made the same week they bought them. I mean, especially here in the US. All things aside, China is a little bit of a distance, ya know...

It does not go by individual company's fiscal year. You guys' original assumption is correct, wk1 is the first wk of Jan.

According to the Serial Number - was made Week 36 ( the previous week - fresh off the production line.. ) - OS was 2.0.2 (if I remember correctly) - upgraded to 2.1 last friday....
