Besides the standard upgrades like more storage and faster processor, what will Apple have to put in it for everyone who bought a 2011 Air to spend another $1200? Will 3G do it for you? It sure will for me. A laptop without the web is a door stop. The Air seriously Ned 3g

i already have a verizon 4G LTE mobile hotspot w/ unlimited internet ;).

For me, 10 hours battery life and 3G SIM slot will do it for me. That will be the prefect mobile computer. I know what you're thinking. Get the iPad right? The iPad can't do what a real Mac can do.

No one was thinking that if you need a Mac with 3G you should buy an iPad. I don't think 3G in laptops will really take off in the US** until you can share your data plan across multiple devices like your iPhone, iPad and laptop.

**Compared to iPads with 3G.

A 13 inch detachable retina touch screen / iPad
Ultra light-weight carbon fibre design
Ivy Bridge
8GB RAM
A dedicated GPU (Nvidia)
500GB SSD

All for the price of the current one.

Anything less, I will not be happy :p

MBA 11, 13 and 15*: USB 3.0, 512 SSD, (FaceTime) HD cam, (U)LV Ivy CPU, 8 GB RAM option.

*15inch only - possibly part of the MBP range, or MBA: dedicated GPU, more ports, better battery, maybe a 1920x1200 display; basically a Macbook Pro without an optical drive.
