I guess for people that listen to each song for 10 seconds and need to move on will require an infinite storage space. How the hell can anyone listen through even 3gb worth of music in a week is beyond me.

It's not about hearing a lot, it's about not having to select/sync by loading your whole collection, and have any of your tracks at your disposal anytime.

Oh ya I follow you, kind of like being a woman and having 10000 pair of shoes so you can wear it once.

Women are lucky, that they have so many different shoe designs to wear. Not so lucky, that they have to spend the money.

Until they release an 100GB+ iPhone, I will be content with my on-order 16GB. When i want to listen to a bunch of tunes I will bring along my 80GB iPod Classic.

By the sounds of a couple of posts today, the 32GB is already in the pipeline?!

If they release it anytime soon, I think they will offer some kind of deal to existing users, otherwise alot of people will swiftly get off the Apple train.

Apple is in the business of making money not pleasing everyone on earth. Of course they will come out with a phone with more storage, then they'll come out with a new phone that does a little bit more than this one, then that will will have more storage, then a new phone, etc....I'm sure they'll eventually have they're own international cell service.

They have got customers right where they want them, give them just enough to satisfy, then BAM something new and supposedly better. And we'll all go wait in line, year after year.

So "What will happen to existing 3G owners when revised storage iphone is released?"

Nothing.

Bend Over and and go buy the new one.

Well if the difference between the subsidised and unsibsidised iPhone is larger than $175 then just eat the early cancellation charge and sign up for a new contract.

This works right?

not so fast. there is a waiting period where your account will still be on file and can be resumed. I think it's six months

People already know to expect that with tech but what do you mean in the pipleline? That sounds like it's expected next month or something. If you are surprised that they are planning on coming out with a 32Gig phone in the next 6 months then you must be brand new to Apple product lines. I don't see any posts yet even guessing a 32gig sooner than december

People are a bunch of whiny babies about the iphone. Just like when they dropped the price. Everybody was whining about it. If they release a 32gig phone next month, 3 days after your return policy runs out. Do they owe you anything? NO. NOT AT ALL.

It's like people don't realize how tech works. If I buy a Dell top of the line machine today, in 6 months, something newer and infinitely better is bound to be out, but thats just technology.

You can sit around and wait until 32gig comes out but then its just a matter of time until 64gig comes out. It just keeps going on.

If 16gb in a phone that needs to be charged almost on a daily basis isn't enough storage space then people are either too lazy to use iTunes the way it was design to be used or too stupid to learn how to use it properly.

I use my 8gb iPhone mainly to listen to music and watch videos and I've never even come close to viewing/hearing all the content before I need to recharge/sync. At that point I remove the movies I've watched and update the music if I'm bored. How hard is that to do ? There might exist a rare user that needs a month or so worth of content but the majority of cry babies on this and other forums don't and I don't care what they say.

It just seems that consumers (Americans in general) both expect far too much from companies and are far too lazy. So stop fricking whining and just be grateful that such an awesome product exists.

And if for some reason you really need 32 or 64gb of storage space WTF are you buying 16gb iPhones ????

Matt

It always surprises me how people just assume that they'll get some special kind of treatment (discount or whatever) towards the next iteration of a product that you own. Granted Apple did go and offer a rebate when the prices dropped, but only because there were a lot of angry customers, and their stock prices took a hit accordingly. (remember it's all about making money)

Do you think when you buy a Ferrari and it's replacement comes out a few months later, that Ferrari will offer some sort of discount on the next one? How about that new plasma that you got, and it gets replaced in 6 months, what is Sony going to do, offer you a rebate on the new one?

Think about it.......

sorry to bash on you bro but actually, once you buy a Ferrari you are considered a life long customer and you are given special discounts/offers on your next one. You dont always get cash off but they will upgrade to a higher package, or give you good amount trade in, all types of Ferrari gear and other stuff. but there is a big difference between a 200$ phone and a 275,000$top of the line sports car.

There is no 32GB iPhone or any evidence that there will be one in the near future.

I guess there will be on at some point but I don't think it will be just around the corner. When it does happen it will far enough after the initial release that there won't be any special deals but that's just a guess...

I agree. But people will always be complaining. Most of them flock to forums like these :p

If AT&T clears up the 3G reception and Apple fixes MobileMe's shared disk then it may be possible to store music/video on your iDisk and listen/watch it from your iPhone. So once streaming stuff from a network drive to your iPhone is possible, the iPhone's disk space won't matter as much and will be mostly for Apps. This of course may never happen.
