I would love apps with live icons to look like the ones on top row here, in a right to left sliding manner. On the iPhone 5 of course. Then you would have a dedicated space on top of the first home screen for apps with this functionality.

I really don't now what info would be there, but if implemented I think it should be done this way.
i was thnking the same thing when i saw the double wide icons, but i doubt it will happen before ios7.

Now iOS 6 is out and people have had a few days to adjust, what small (but significant) updates do you think will come in 6.1?

Personally the only thing I can think of thus far would be a 'clear all' button in the notification centre, as opposed to clearing each app individually. Maybe this next one is a bit ambitious for a .1 update but a 'clear all' would be much appreciated in the multi tasking bar!

Thoughts?

Edit: it's never going to happen but a separate iMessages app would be fantastic! Much like BBM
Btw first post! :)

 :D

Just general fixes for me would be good enough. Wouldn't mind a battery fix as I seem to be pissing battery life at the mo.

That's a cool idea. No more pages of apps. Just multiple rows that slide arranged in any way you want. Hmm.

All I want is an offline Siri. Does she really need an internet connection to read or dictate a message? I wish she could read email too....

I totally agree. Even on my old iPhone 4 (which didn't have Siri) I could make calls using voice control, with being connected to the Internet

Wifi + 3G needs to come back from the beta

Would it switch to 3G when wifi can't manage any data, or could it use both together for uber-Internet? My ADSL uploads at 0.2mb/s whereas my unlimited 3G can comfortably manage 3-5mb/s upload!

"In beta 4, a new option can be found deep in the Settings application, under the Cellular tab, called Wi-Fi Plus Cellular. When enabled, it allows apps that are having trouble with Wi-Fi to automatically switch over to cellular data…

With this feature, users on FaceTime calls will no longer be interrupted thanks to a poor Wi-Fi connection. And folks who are worried about exceeding their wireless data limit can obviously toggle the feature off and on as they see fit.

But it’s not just for FaceTime. It looks like Apple will be opening up this option to iCloud syncing, iTunes downloads, Passbook updates, and more. It’ll really be interesting to see if they allow third-party apps to use the feature.

At any rate, the new Wi-Fi Plus Cellular toggle seems to be in line with Apple’s other enhancements in iOS 6. While it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing any major new features this fall, it seems like we’ll be seeing a whole lot of refinements."

The ability to switch to use vector based tomtom maps and 3D instead of autonavi tiled crap in China! Everyone is complaining about Apples maps, I've not even had a chance to be dissapointed by it yet!

Bbm is a mess! Seperating iMessage and text messaging is just silly!!

Yes. There's like no point in keeping SMS's separate from iMessages. What would be nice, though, is if I could at least designate which contacts I iMessage and which ones I SMS. What would be even better is if my phone somehow knew the recipient might not get an iMessage or if the data connection isn't 3G or LTE. For example if a person was in an area where he might not get an iMessage or if he was on EDGE or GPRS, then his iPhone will make sure his buddies' iPhones know they should probably send a message to him via SMS instead of via iMessage. His iPhone will default to sending SMS messages until he gets a good data connection.

It does that already

How Often is iOS Updated

Can anyone tell me based on past history how often we typically see any type of iOS update? Do they come out fairly often or could it be many months? Thanks!

Turn by turn directions for iPhone 4. The only reason I wanted to update to ios 6 to find out not supported. :(

Auto-profiles; when I'm at work silence my ringer, when I'm at home charging (sleeping) turn on DND. When I'm driving route to hands free.

Maps; allow user to input hazards such as accidents or cops (aka waze), display speed limit, quick Siri mute, allow turn by turn to still work when I'm using Siri, more traffic resolution.

Smarten up and speed up Siri; I don't see why my frequent commands are waiting for a server response. When I say "call abc" I don't like that it waits 10 sec sometimes to fetch the command from the server when I call abc 5 times a day.

Find my friends suggestions based on all my contacts not just my iCloud contacts.

Everyone is saying an improved maps app or something like that - correct me if I'm wrong, but won't all the changes to Apple's maps app which are required to be done be on the server end? There isn't any problem with the app itself, its the data that its pulling down from the Apple servers which needs to be updated/changed

I have issues. I was driving my friend home, he put his address in. He lives in a city that is not small, and it kept wanting me to drive past his house and go across a toll bridge. Even when we were right beside the street to his house, it wanted me to drive past the street and go on the toll bridge. I don't get it, Google never had this problem.
I often had similar problems - it would think I was on a one way road NEXT to where I was at, and think I need to go around and around.

Exactly. Updating Maps has nothing to do with iOS version - at least not like people want them updated.

I would be happy with fixing the notifications. Most of the time i either do not get them, or get them without sound. It happens in third party apps, as well as anything that was integrated with the OS. It started on my 4s, and when i purchased my iphone 5 it continued on that. I believe notifications are broken for alot of ppl. I hope that is one of the bug fixes that they adress asap!

 Am I missing something? That's exactly how iMessage works now.

If they do a new product launch this month for iPad Mini. Expect a 6.1 to add support for it.

Otherwise
If Apple decides a need for 6.0.1, November at earliest, but December more likely.
Don't expect a 6.1 until iPad refresh in March.
