There are only two correct names:

macOS 13: If Apple wants consistency between iOS and macOS

macOS 16: If Apple wants to get out of silly 10.x versioning (Mac OS X 10.0 = 1.0, so 10.15 should be 16)
 
Mammoth seems likely. But then on the flipside, do people really care what it’s called? I don’t think they do, they just want to see the performance upgrades more than anything.{ It’s kind a like the iPhone monikers, no one cares what Apple names the iPhone, they just care about what the product offers.}

If I were in charge, it would be Mac OS X Lynx.

I’m guessing they never used Lynx because it’s the name of a command-line web browser that was previously included in OS X. It would’ve caused confusion, naming rights issues aside.
