I'm always like this, it's annoying haha :(

The consumer in me is perfectly happy with the iPhone 5, but the geek in me wants the latest and greatest and a new toy to play with!

My long lost brother.....:)

We are all the same. It just seems like when something is working good you want to try something else. I had no issues with the iphone 5....just wanted to tinker a little more than it would let me.

I'll switch if they can sync all of my favorite iOS software: iCloud (mac mail), iMessage, iPhoto.

I personally hated iPhoto.

I can sync too with Gmail, and dropbox. iMessage never worked correctly so? that was probably user error..

Seriously though 'iPhoto" you've got to be kidding.

No I don't get it. Same specs. Same Android. What's special about a Samsung?

Its the commercials that sell it... other than that nothing special.

Deep down I'd rather NOT switch. I wish Apple would announce a 5" iPhone on March 13th. But they won't. And since I really want a larger screen and I'm curious about Android, I'll be extremely tempted to buy an S4.

I fixed it up for you professor.

Dont get testy....I was legitimately curious.

All the same....I don't get what is so bad about iPhoto. Great add-on photo manager for anyone who uses Apple hardware. Is it perfect? No.....but I haven't run across a piece of software that is yet.

No I understood my lack of structure made the comment confusing to say the least. Not even sure its any better now.

Problem with iPhoto is just trying to organize photos is a mess. Now he may have been referring to Photostream that on the other hand is kind of nice but I can do it with dropbox just as easy. The downside is dropbox wont sync with my ATV. Like you said nothing is perfect.

For me I feel like I can do the same things on either phone.

Imessage and photostream are both important for me. The way it seamlessly syncs is very convienent. I come home, put my phone on the charger and lay back with the ipad.

Also most of my friends and family have iphone or ipad. So its just a better experience for me.;)

Nothing really. I've noticed that most recent android adopters (mainly former ios holdovers) seem to think it's the be all end all of android. Personally I prefer HTC because of the superior hardware.

I can always root & change my own software, but with Samsung, you're always stuck with an ugly phone

What would get me to switch? If the future iPhone screens were limited to its current size, if Android had capabilities that I would find more useful than iOS, and if the Android GUI weren't so unpolished and slow (in my opinion). Android wins on screen size (although I do not like the quality of the display on the Samsung's), but with respect to everything else, I doubt any Android phone would win me over in the near term. Tablets, on the other hand, ....

Have you tried a nexus device? They are every bit as smooth as ios

My Nexus 4 isn't quite as fluid as my iPhone 4S. Despite 4 times the amount of RAM, twice as many cores, and ~700Mhz higher clock speed on all 4 cores. But my Nexus 4 is still my daily phone thanks to the customization.

I'm curios as to what's at the core of Apples decision to flip consumer focus from the upcoming iPhone to wristwatches.

iWatch this, iWhat that, they've got the tech sector talking watches. Buyers, not hardly a word.

Perhaps despite my exposure to the masses in airports & nice hotels I haven't heard much .... Yet. Who knows, Apples quite the expert in spin, marketing & sales.

Wow, someone who likes HTC hardware. Good. HTC hardware is better, solidly built.

That's highly debatable. I have an iPhone 5 plus a new Nexus 7 running 4.2.2. It's nowhere near as fluid as iOS. I can see lag, not much mind you, but it's there and noticeable.

The Galaxy S4 better have unibody construction with some sort of metal to make me switch over. I can deal with crappy TouchWiz because I will install a different ROM over it but the hardware needs to be spot on.

Not holding my breath though - we all know the GS4 is going to be plastic and disappoint in regards to build quality.

What bending?

If its plastic I certainly wont be disappointed. A lot of iphone users seem to think theres an issue with phones being made of polycarbonate, when in fact, the majority of people dont have an issue with it.

well a nexus 7 and 4 are not the same thing. I think the n4 is just as fluid as the iphone

How are they different? I had always assumed they were the same (except for size and phone capability).

Also made by different companies. :)

I haven't had a Nexus 7 but TBH, I find my Nexus 4 as smooth as my iPhone 5 was. There are things that I preferred on my iPhone 5 and other things that I prefer on my Nexus 4. :)

Honestly I have only tried the Samsung phones currently available in the UK. They're good, but they lagged behind me. Not terribly, but enough to be detectable. However, you might have a point about the Nexus - presumably since Google are calling the shots the phone is more optimized than the Samsung offerings?

I wish I had a separate camera to show you a side by side....why the samsung phones are smooth, you are right about not being iphone smooth, they also are not nearly as smooth as a nexus device. The nexus 4 is definitely every bit as smooth as the iphone 5. I switch between a note 2 and the nexus a lot....not matter what I do I can't get it as smooth as the nexus/iphone. You should really check one out...even if you go into a t-mobile store and mess around with a display one.
