They don't even have one on the MacPro!

I don't think blood pressure is possible - everything I've ever seen for measuring it still involves a hand that tightens on your upper arm.

I'd like to see the watch be thinner, in addition to many of the things other people have already mentioned.

Lol. I just listed it because so many android users list that as a knock on the iPhone.

Blood pressure would be great but I'm not sure how accurate that would be if possible.

As for thinness, it really didn't feel thick to me at all. But I've worn my nano as a watch many times so many be in just used to it. But it's only 1-2mm thicker than my old traditional dress watch from 16+!years ago.

And USB port not to mention! "How am I gonna transfer files on it??"

Lol USB-C of course! Lightning is dead, Apple wants thicker connectors!!

Longer battery life. For me it's got to be more than a day so it can be used to track sleep. That's my requirement before I buy.

Hello,

I am thinking if I made a mistake ordering the first revision. I think not because I think the watch needs significant improvements before I upgrade. In particular

- watch battery can run for 72 hours at least, better 120 hours
- watch face always one

Those are my main points. In particular battery life. What I think would be nice to have is:

- water proof so that I can swim with the watch
- GPS on the watch
- can sync not only with iPhone but with cloud, mac, ipad,
- blood pressure monitoring if this is feasible

It will take a long time for the battery too improve this much. So I am happy with my purchase today.

What would be your must have upgrades?

Cheers

The fact that Apple released a new Apple Watch.

I don't think any of us are on Apple's future products staff, so we aren't the best for coming up with new ideas. I don't think battery life is a compelling upgrade. If 18 hours isn't about good enough, there will be a lot of watches on ebay. I also don't think "always on" will be compelling.

I think style, sensors, waterproof, with processor upgrades along with must have apps will get many to pull the trigger. New ways of intimate communications will definitely be a driver.

As said above, for me it will be Apple released a new watch! :) But I imagine thinner will be one of my must haves.

We are just at the beginning of a new platform! Exciting!!!

Ha ha. Yep, I'm thinking the same thing. If I'm wearing this watch every day, then even a limited upgrade is going to be worth it to me. In the past I've upgraded my iPhone's only every other year. But I think I'm done denying myself the latest and greatest just to save $300 or so dollars. If my cell company makes it easy and not too expensive for me to swap out my 6 for the 6s this Fall, I will probably do that. Or I could try to sell the phone on Craigslist.

I find it looks really thick on the Apple website, but not so much in real life. But to me it's like the old MacBook Pro - it's not that it was too thick, but the Retina Pros and MacBook Airs are thinner and look better strapped to my wrist. ;)

I know, I know, people are going to say what's the point of a watch that's too thin for an optical drive and ethernet cable, but most end users today never burn DVDs on their watch.

Seriously though, the first iPhone was 11.6 mm thick and the iPhone 6 is 6.9 mm. I'd be very happy to see a watch that's 40% thinner and has longer battery life by the time it reaches its 6th iteration.

Oh you know Ive wants it thinner lol. Yeah, every mobile product looks so much thicker to me on the website than in reality.

Waterproofing.
I swim. I want to be able to track that!

I shared your sentiment but then found lots of scientific papers outlining why here 'sleep trackers' aren't anything but placebo.
Phases of sleep aren't easily distinguishable, at least not simply by movement on your wrist

GPS to accurately track my runs without my phone. I am interested to find out how accurate the Fitness app is at tracking distance without GPS after it learns your stride.

How much better would be so good that you buy another watch? For me 36 hours are not cutting the mustard. 72 hours would be fantastic but I guess with 42 hours I would be satisfied already. The point is that I believe it will take Apple a while to get to 42 hours.

We all know it'll get thinner and have the same battery life.

That would be the worst thing that happens. Not only because the battery life would stay the same but also because I really don't like thin watches. I only have thick and heavy watches. Maybe Apple releases more styles.

It has to replace my fenix 3. So that means, rugged design, GPS, better battery life (doesn't have to be as much as the fenix), and waterproof. That will never happen, but I need a true multisport/fitness watch.

When would you charge?

Either morning or evening when I'm on the computer or watching TV. Not all days makes that easy. A 36 hour life would give the wiggle room needed. A barely there 24 hours just isn't enough.

I don't expect much better battery life unless some wild new battery tech is used or the watch becomes huge lol. Just not much room for the battery.

Blood sugar monitoring would be killer

yeah battery life will be our next technological leap forward.
1. industrial/mechanical revolution,
2. the resistor/semi-conductor
3. battery revolution

chips are getting smaller and smaller. while battery size and efficiency stay relatively the same. There are so many tech that is being held down on the lack of small and efficient battery. Even considering Moore's law, there is a finite degree where you can't physically get any smaller.
i'm actually amazed that apple managed to get as much battery life out of the watch as it is.

the only way is through optimizing the software to use less and less battery.
