This "pro" business sounds pretty shady to me. I'm having a hard time imagining what Apple could do to warrant a "pro" version of the phone that wouldn't simply look like a normal, iterative update to iOS or the hardware.

I understand "pro" is subjective, but it's going to look like a total money grab unless the pro version is truly a new product.

If this is instead of the 7 Plus, then sure, why not. Dual cameras sound fun.

Count me out if this is a price-gouging, more costly tier though. The price of iPhones has steadily been climbing year on year, especially when considering the storage in the base model hasn't changed since 2009, effectively pushing the price up another $100 for a lot of people. How Apple expect people to record 4K videos, take 12mpx photos and download modern apps with about 12GB of usable storage is beyond me, but that's a debate for another thread.

I'll be sticking with the standard model if that's the case, though hope there's more to it than thinner, no antenna bands and a flush camera.

Actually... not.
Predominant use of the iPhone is email, photos and text more than phone calls.
For iPads it is consumptive use, not used for productivity.

btw... putting a high end camera on a tablet... kind of, not. Just my opinion.

You are indeed correct.

However maybe i should re-phrase. The iPhone is a pocket sized device. it already typically has a class leading camera in terms of picture quality when released.

Make it bigger, it's no longer a pocket sized device. They already use the best power:battery CPUs they can fit in the thing.

And if they don't make it bigger, well... phone sized devices suck for trying to do work on.

It already sits in a pretty comfortable niche IMHO, if anything since the 6 they've become too big IMHO. I much preferred the actual size of my 4.
