I think the rear of the phone with the antenna lines is ugly. The top and bottom areas should be solid to match the front bezels. The top and bottom bezels take up too much vertical space. I also don't like the round edges, so slippery to hold and can no longer balance on a table.

What would you change about the design of the 6/6 plus if you could?

Make them smaller.

Reading comprehension may not be your best skill.

Thing is? Adding a cut on my character doesn't actually make your post any less of a dodge. What happened here is that you made a statement before realizing that Ive himself had directly contradicted you not two days before. Now, instead of admitting you were wrong you're attempting to kill the messenger instead. Not a particularly refined strategy.

Having seen several "in the wild" at this point I will say this: regardless of where you come down on the look of the bands (I like them) they're instantly recognizable from a distance. It's not much of a stretch to think this was a conscious decision designed to keep the front AND back of the device visually unique and iconic. The bands do reflect the front bezels, so they're both an engineering and design choice. It'll be interesting to see whether Apple sticks with them in the next design rev of the phone.

Yes, I read that. Frankly the timing is suspicious. It's all lollipops and roses Puff piece to put a good spin on things.

Personally I think bendgate isn't the problem it's being made out to be.

I do think Apple has haters now that they wouldn't have if they'd act like they appreciate their customers and drop the narcissistic Steve Jobs behavior.

People have had enough of Apples superiority BS. No where is it as obvious as in this forum. Very few people would speak their minds or criticise Apple until this past year. They were programmed and intimidated, but slowly they're taking back their own authentic voices, thinking for themselves and awaking to the reality that Apple only wants their money... All of it!

The goal of business is to provide a service or to supply customers with goods and to make a profit. You have a problem with that? Dollars to donuts, you don't work for free.

And comprehension may be excellent but still wasted on reading wonky theories.

Oh, and here you didn't seem to mind Apple making a profit.
Very late, I didn't become an Apple customer and shareholder until 1991. Little did I realize just how wealthy Apple stock would make me. That along with the many shares of Microsoft, and a few other hot tech stocks enriched my financial life forever. Such luck :)

The only thing that bugs me is that the bottom of the phone feels like a cheese grater. I rest the bottom of my phone on my pinky and when you move it along, it feels very sharp. The iPhone 5 is smooth.

Also the sim tray is not entirely flush near the pinhole.

Sloppy design in my eyes....

The phone looks the same year after year after year. It looks good but it's time to change things up a lil bit. Maybe a complete glass front and get rid of that home button.

Make it out of something stronger than aluminum like liquid metal and also a material where antennas can go through so no more lines on the back. 2GB ram. Sapphire screen.

From what I am seeing I would prefer to have seen a curved back to accommodate a larger battery, make it feel nicer in the hand to hold and give it more structural integrity.

- I realise your opinion may be different, that's cool.

Less bezel for the IP6 plus and make it thicker. I think Apple erred in attempting to squeeze every bit of thinness in a design. The product could have been better all around if they didn't make it thinner, i.e., better battery, or more ram or a bigger sensor on the camera, then of course there's the bending. Thicker would have made it more structurally sound.

Yes! I thought I was the only one, my pinky keeps scraping the mic jack

A darker color for the back for the grey one (or a black option). Square edges. I'd not change the bezels (I want some bezels just for grip and also because I want the cases I buy to be able to have a little lip so that if I drop my phone face first the lip will hit rather than the glass).

Hell, I'd be boring and keep the edges like the 5/5s, I really liked that design (it honestly imho was the prettiest of the iphones). The 6 I really don't like cosmetically. It's the first iphone getting a case is going to improve the look of for me. It seems too "fashionable" to me and less techy (I don't want my phone looking like a piece of fashion as in clothes and that kind of stuff vs. looking like a neat piece of tech).

Two main things for me:

  • Increase the thickness so the camera lens sits flush with the chassis. This would allow for a bigger battery and I personally would much rather have longer battery life than a few extra millimeters of thinness and a stupid camera bump.
  • As others have said, use a darker finish on the space gray model. For some reason, they went with a slightly lighter finish on the 6 when compared to the space gray 5S and iPads. I liked the darker finish better. Though, the slate finish on the original iPhone 5 was too dark and showed scratches like crazy. I think the 5S was the happy medium.
