I moved from windows a year or so ago for my desktop machine. Bought an iMac which I enjoy using and which has helped me be more productive.

Until a couple of weeks ago I had a Windows 7 laptop, but had constant problems keeping the two machines talking to each other. (Windows trying to take control of all network operations). I just sold the Windows machine and bought an Air two weeks ago..

They just work together! I have the 13" Air but store most of my working document files on the iMac disk, access them on the Air as though it were the same machine. I installed Office for Mac from the optical drive on the iMac direct to the Air. It all just works!

I'm finally able to work in different parts of the house without moving files around on a USB stick, can do pretty much anything from either machine and access the other from wherever i am.

I don't regret buying the Air, just wish I'd done it sooner!

Ive not bought her yet. I went to the shop and, after much persuasion on my part and resistance on theirs they handed me an 11 and a 13 to hold and look at. before I asked the machines were stuck to the desk, fair enough to stop people abstracting them but annoying when a purchaser wants to actually hold the device, not just touch it. But once I assured them I had no designs on peculating an MBA and held them in my hand I actually completed a volte-face and decided to buy an 11inch MBA. It was just so small and sweet, however they only had the cheap model in stock, and as I am saving money by only buying the 11inch I want the top model. They assure me they will have one tomorrow, so I must wait another 11 hours or so.
pah!

I have the 11" MBA. It's perfect, best...laptop...ever. For years I longed for a decent replacement for the mighty 12" PowerBook, Apple finally delivered in every way. Congrats, you won't regret it, just a shame your iPad will get no use whatsoever anymore...;-)

I think it will for watching television and movies whilst laying on my back. Notebooks are impractical for such a thing as the keyboard sticks in my throat. Although I once suffered an iPad injury while using mine in such a manner. I was holding the pad by the back of the apple ipad1 case and I must have leant it foreword a little. the back slipped from its little slot allowing the iPad to fall forewords into my face, the top edge of it hit my mouth and mashed my lower lip. Although it only broke the skin in few places it looked alarming as lip wounds seem to bleed a lot. SO imagine the piss-taking when I was found streaked in gore and had to admit that one of my beloved apple devices did it to me.

Just got her home and set her up, in fact Im typing this on it. I cannot believe how light it is. Its so light I can hold it in the palm of one hand with the arm extended and still type on it with my other hand. it literally weighs almost nothing. And considering its spec it seems to fly along. amazing!

enjoy it !

I think that iMac + MBA 11" is the best combination.

I had to change that combination with the Mini + MBP 15" + MBA 11" due to my job.

I like my MBP 17" (with SSD + HDD) and my MBA 11" but find the MBA 11" infinitely more comfortable to use on the couch or in bed.

I don't use either in the bathroom and generally don't like it when my wife grabs my iPad while she sits on the toilet.

I purchased an iMac instead of a MBP. The only problem with the MBA is the max of 4 GB RAM f you use Photoshop, etc. I am hoping that next iteration has a 8 GB RAM, 320 or 512 SSD/Flash option.

Enjoy your new MBA!

I am enjoying it. Thanks.

At present I am sewing an 11inch laptop sleeve into a slit I have cut in my winter coat, so I will have a MBA sized pocket in my coat just under the normal inside pocket. Then, by using a tethered mobile connection I have unlimited free portable wifi for my pocket mac. great eh? Ill post pics when I've finished the job.

It is so small it reminds me of my Psion 5mx or my Atari Portfolio.

Since you enjoy multi-tasking, as someone above already suggested:
Did you notice the exerciser on the floor? You can burn calories while liberating calories all at the same time.

I still don't get why people sit such a long time on the john. When things plop out, isn't it over?

Perhaps some of these users should buy stool softeners instead of Airs/iPads...
