hello Phrasikleia!!!!:)

hope you had a very good time!!!!!

well when i say greek language support i mean tha ALL the menus and EVERYTHING on the laptop i have(with Leopard) is in English...
it supports greek only for writing...and browsing...

smoother dvd loading meccanism that is ...in the clinic is a bit embarrasing the noise it makes when it loads e DVD-CD...:p

ok i do not get a USB 3 or WiMax ...I ll live with that...:)

but we have to get rid of the trackpad...i do not like it this way and i strongly support the glass option...:p
and i also hate the closure of the Pros...i want badly the magnetic latch...

also a 8GB Ram option for future proof OS upgrades will be granted because if buy one of theese I ll upgrade it in 3-4 years...(if god keeps me alive..)

Well, you're not paying for components and casing materials alone, you know. Someone has to pay those top-notch designers who make everything so elegant, and assembling all of those custom components has to cost more than slapping together a bunch of standard parts. An Armani suit will never be as cheap as one from Men's Warehouse.

Right; the only problem is, I want the OS only, and actually prefer a thicker, uglier computer, because they tend to stay cooler, which is a biggie for me with my way-too-hot Macbook. And thicker computers can have more specs.

Yeah, I had a terrific time. Corfu is gorgeous and the archaeological museum there is super.

I didn't realize that Leopard had no true Greek version; however, that's an OS issue and not something that will come along with a MBP update.

I also really want the mag latch. I really dislike trying to push in that little button and see a lot of scratches around that area on older MBPs.

8GB RAM option: Please, Apple!!!

I can see it now: Steve Jobs takes the stage at MWSF to announce the "new, thicker, uglier" MacBook Pro. Maybe they'll name it MacBook Lead. SJ will demonstrate its superiority by showing how well it can anchor a sun umbrella at the beach. :D

I would love to see Quad-core or Blu-ray, but I do not see them coming to the new macbook pros

Strange hybrid of all MacBooks, wouldn't it be? :D

Strange hybrid of all MacBooks, wouldn't it be? :D

all features are already in the MB or MBP or MBA. so in that sense it's a hybrid of all. actually not simply a hybrid. just the evolution of the 12 inch powerbook that many of us still miss. technically feasible because the new sony vaio is like this. the sony even has blue ray.

i just think apple is not going to make on because it would take away sales from the mba and the 15 inch mbp. at the same time the mb are taking away sales from this 13 inch mbp.

I don't think so, Tim. ;)

hahahahahahahahaha

I really want a MBP 15" that has a better resolution...I find it sad that my old crappy Dell from 2005 has a 15" screen with a 1680x1050 resolution...also Quad core or Dual up to 3GHz would be sweet.

Why up to 6gb and not 8gb of RAM?

i don't think any laptops outthere come with 6 max. it's usually 2, 4 or 8gb.

The 15" MBP is the perfect size/fit for most people.

I would like the 15" to have an HD option at least... 1900x1200

I also would like a Blu-Ray Burner BTO

Those are the things I really want.

Other things I am being Optimistic, however realistic about :

2.8GHz Core 2 Duo / 1066FSB
Montevana Chipset which supports Dual Channel DDR3-1066
ATi Radeon Mobility 4650 512MB Video Card
HDMI-Out
3 USB 2.0 Ports Standard... Not the Measly 2 we have now.
And Finally a nice sleek physical update, not too much different from what we have now, but defiantly a magnetic latch.

1. Magnetic latch.

2. If the industry is unnecessarily going to 16:9 ratio (and taking away vertical pixels :( ), I hope we get a 14" screen (1440 x 810 or whatever), 16" screen (1920 x1080), and 18" (1920 x 1080, or higher).

3(a) A Blu-Ray option for 16" and 18" machines (to watch all those movies in full res).
3(b) A quad-core option for the 18" machine (like the Dell)
3(c) 5 hours of realistic battery life for the 14" machine.

4. HSDPA to keep up with the Joneses.
5. WiMax.
6. USB 2
7. DisplayPort.

8. (a) max RAM 16 GB for the quad-core option in the 18".
8. (b) max of 8 GB for everything else.

9. Glass trackpad that we've heard about.
10. 4 hours of realistic battery life.
11. User changeable harddrive.
12. SSD option.
13. A keyboard with number keypad on the 16" and 18" versions. A typical laptop keyboard on the 14" system.

14. 14" MBP: The most affordable MBP ever. The others still require $$$. ;)

1. Sure, that'd be cool.
2. So... why? Let's not. There won't be a MacBook Pro under 15" again...
3a. NO.
3b. Not until Nehalem.
3c. We'll still get 5 hours on both the 15" and 17".
4. So... a 3G card... HECK NO.
5. Nope.
6. Exactly. None of this USB 3 crap yet, but maybe FireWire 3200?
7. That'd be cool.
8inclusive. 8GB max RAM across the board is almost a given.
9. Only if it has a screen underneath and does something kick-awesome and revolutionary. ;)
10. Let's go with five.
11. Amen to that.
12. Probably. Can you say, "120GB"?
13. Ugh, NO. Don't offset my keyboard, thanks. Next you'll be wanting a fingerprint reader...

Ok I must say some of those specifications are a bit delusional. And some of you are dreaming to much. Look, realistically, you shouldn't set your expectations to high or you'll be disappointed.

It's ok to dream. Sure I want infinite memory, processor power, resolution, etc, but that isn't happening in the near future, just like some of the specs you are putting out.

I don't understand some of your responses.

A lot of the things on the list are actually quite realistic, as they're actually found in products that are announced for release in Q4 of this year (i.e. soon).

Also, Apple is rarely behind the curve when they FIRST announce a new product. They usually don't fall behind until later. :p Since nearly all the details I've mentioned are found in other systems, there's a realistic chance that Apple could provide all of these things into a system that I want (not what you want).

The only really big exception are the SSD that seem to be included in portable notebooks rather than larger machines. Also, the glass trackpad (the touchscreen underneath was implied, since that's part of the existing concept floating around in the ether).
